Anyone heard any rumors about bringing the 6.4 Hemi without MDS in the 1500 for 2026 or 2027?
Heard that rumor on one or more of TK's videos, BUT I am a Show Me before I believe anything like that these days. And no, I do not live in Missouri.
CAVEAT: To get a Hemi out there w/o both MDS and E Torque installed, regardless if 5.7, or 6.4 would be outstanding. I even saw a few vids where they were also talking the old 426. Again, believe it when I see it. Would definitely temp me a lot to change.

I’ve seen enough reports from various sources to convince me the Hemi in some form will be back in 26, maybe late 26. But I doubt they have firmed up the details yet. I personally wouldn’t be surprised if the 6.4 was available in the 1500 but I would be very doubtful that it won’t have MDS and possibly some form of stop/start (hopefully not the e-torque). They are probably trying to figure out the pecking order and alignment for marketing of the Hemi and the Hurricane.

I don't think they'll go as far as remove MDS

What's wrong with e-torque? It does more than Auto Start/Stop.

I heard the 6.4 Hemi option is a possibility for the 1500 models. If they move forward with it, I don't think they'll touch the MDS or Auto Start/Stop features. Have you had bad experiences with MDS or had any mechanical failures? Speaking of which, I don't think they have any plans to integrate the etorque system with a 6.4 Hemi optioned 1500 (but I could be wrong).

Even if the 1500s get the 6.4 Hemi, I don't think I'll be trading-in my (2023) 5.7 to get the bigger engine. One thing that I'm concerned about with my etorque is the longevity of the 48v Battery Pack that cannot be charged directly. If that pack goes out, the vehicle can't operate. I do see that the etorque systems have an 8-year/80,000-mile warranty. I'm at 15000 miles right now. If I have any issues with that system under warranty, I'll likely trade at that point - probably into a Ram 2500 (used) or a TRX.

It’s needlessly complicated and expensive with little benefit. I also don’t like having a sizable lithium battery in the cab with me. So far mine has been doing OK but only has 5,000 miles on it. It was largely responsible for me buying an extended warranty for the first time in my 74 year old life. If you like having it that’s fine with me.

FYI, you may already know but the E-torque system has an 80,000 mile warranty.

That's one thing you don't see mentioned,is the fact there's a fairly good sized Lithinium battery in the cab, sitting very close to where alot of Babies are postioned. If i was a young parent with kids strapped into carseats right in front of that battery,i'd sure be asking questions about how healthy or safe it is for my children

My opinion the car 392 (485 HP) will be the R/T engine option in the "street truck" RCSB 1500 along side the SRT 6.2HC "street truck". And MDS will be removed for that specific model/trim. And we might see the truck 6.4 with MDS, possibly a slight bump in power, be an option on the upper trims of the regular 1500 lineup.

I think that makes the most sense. This way it limits production.

If they built a regular cab shortbox lowered Hellcat powered 5th Gen 4X4 similiar to the old SRT 10's,advertised the hell out of them, they'd sell every one they could make, and it would drag people back into Mopar showrooms.
Just my opinion, but they need to build something that will bring people back into the dealers showrooms

The real SRT 10's,the little 6 speed regular cabs, are still one of the best looking trucks built :Big Laugh: Are you thinking of the body kits the Rumble Bee's had, they weren't bad looking when the trucks were brand new,but did seem to go to hell fairly quick with a few years and miles on the body kit.I didn't mind the Daytona's either :Big Laugh:

You're the oddball then :Big Laugh:
I know...I've got my flack jacket on ready to catch strays! haha
Now, if they could tastefully do a Ram widebody...hmmm, that would be something else!

The rumor mill is full of rumors. But I've heard a RCSB street truck is on the menu from several sources. Not sure I'd buy one, but they'll be cool none the less.

I've also heard rumors of them supercharging the 5.7. Honestly, I don't think anything is off the table when it comes to Kuniskis. The next couple years are going to be very interesting.
