Can someone tell me what the gas mileage difference is between a Hemi with 3.55 gears compared to the 3.92?

We will be pulling a 8 - 9K trailer.

Thanks

Not enough to notice. Are you planning on getting a 1500? If so the only gears available are 3.21's and 3.92's, 3.55's aren't available anymore. I would definitely go with 3.92s for that kind of weight and if it was me would probably go with a 2500 unless you only plan to pull that kind of weight every once in awhile and only for a short distance.

At that weight, a 2500 is your friend

that's a load for a 1500..mine has 3.92 rear end and my trailer is around 6000#..I get 8-10 mpg pulling at 68-70. you could get a little better if you want to tow slower..I get over 20 all the time on the highway while not towing..I would go for the 3.92 or a 2500 if you can swing it..tow mileage would be the same but better tow platform for that size trailer..unless you have a base model the cargo capacity is the limiting factor. after me and wife and full fuel and 600# tongue wt., I have only a cpl. hundred pounds left for gear so I have to pack light. 2500 would eliminate that.
