Dude that looks great. Did you make the winch cradle separate from the full body of the bumper?
Yes I did. Figured i would make it separate in case I ever decide to sell the bumper I’m not starting from scratch. That and its so tight in there it made the most sense to make em separate.

If you have pics of that floating around or If you can snap some pics during reinstall that would be awesome. I keep looking at bumper setups and it doesn't make sense to have them stick out s mile when there enough room to tuck it inside the frame horns. I'm tempted to pick up a DIY kit from move and modify it/add my own cradle to cut down on a bulk of the fab work. Not sure what I have to work with since I've not pulled the bumper, plus, I have a weird enjoyment of looking at fab work.

I’ll get some pics during reinstall.
If you make a similar cradle off the frame rails youll probably be able to retro most bumpers with a fairlead Mount and be all set.

That’s what I plan on doing for mine. I’m super curious how strong the frame rails are where the tow hook mounts. I see that’s how you mounted yours. I may try and use the same design for my truck and just cut in a fairlead.

Awesome! Thanks! I got a bunch of ideas I'm stealing! It looks great, also, you cut the lugs off for the factory tow hooks and drilled the 3 holes into the frame?

You're welcome and steal away lol. Yeah I cut those off shortly after I built the first bumper, didn't like being able to see them.

That's the worst part of most bumpers I've seen, you see these big dongels hanging down when looking from the side. Part of me wants to retain them as mounts, part wants to chop em.

My bumper uses them for the skid plate which is why I chose this bumper. Will probably integrate them into my winch tray for a lower mount as well.

Zach, how would you manage the winch clutch/remote?
The clutch to engage freespool is accessible reaching in from the passenger side between the frame rail and skid plate. It is hard to see but not actually blocked by anything.
So the nifty thing about this winch is that the remote operates both wired and wireless. I have the remote control box mounted on the driver side frame rail (not ideal but options were limited) can run the remote wire through the hood and plug it in or just hit the switch and use it wirelessly.

Seriously tho just finished reading through this thread, amazing work.

I confess I love the fact that your dog is in so many pics and also that your lady is there working and having fun alongside you that's awesome! Especially cuz my first thought was this dude has to be single lol!

Keep up the great work and inspiration!

LOL that section of last chance canyon is well out of my comfort zone in the truck, would be a blast in one of my buddies rzrs/mavericks tho.
Thanks, much appreciated, still a lot I want to do to it but just been chipping away little by little.
Ya the pup is never far away whether in the garage or out on the trails. hahaha right, happened across one of those rare gems that enjoys helping out in the garage and always eager for the next camp trip.

Got the new flexible 100w solar panel mounted to keep the auxiliary battery charged when the truck isn’t running. Layed down a sheet of white vinyl first to protect the paint then 10’ of 38lb gorilla double sided adhesive to secure it. Just waiting on the rest of the wiring to show up.

Swing out version 2.0. Hitting it with some black enamel then going to post it for sell on CL. Decided about half way through that I want a tire mounted swing out tailgate instead, so will start building one this weekend.

Made some headway on the swing out/fold down tailgate. Lots of finish welding and cleanup to do and also build the fold down table that will go on the inside. Also need to find a tension shock that will take the load when the tailgate folds down like a traditional tailgate.
