You don't need to do anything to swap to a 180 degree thermostat. It won't throw codes, you don't need to tune the truck etc...Hi just a question about 180 thermostat. I know to turn the fan it need programming but if i change to 180 thermostat will it open at 180 and start circulating the coolant. Thanks
Ah gotcha, with the v6 fan swap/clutch fan removal you will need a tune or to leave the a/c on all the time. Right now it will automatically cycle the fan on at I believe 220 degrees or so unless you command it otherwise electronically. Thanks for the reply. Yes i did remove the shutters. Just left the top and bottom shutter. Clutch fan deleted and V6 efan fitted. Cheers
Yeap thats right for the fan. But my question is with 180 thermostat. Will it still open and circulate the coolant when it reach 180 F.Ah gotcha, with the v6 fan swap/clutch fan removal you will need a tune or to leave the a/c on all the time. Not really. I am in Melbourne(Australia). Yesterday temperature was around 29c n in start stop freeway traffic. Coolant temp climb upto 107c than back to 96c. Oil temp 102c n trans temp 82c.Is it real hot where you live? Just curious what you're seeing for actual engine operating temps?
