I've been having this issue for about a month now. I'll be driving along at a cruising speed and the truck will shut off occasionally once it's up to temperature. Sometimes the stall will only last for 5 - 10 seconds and other times it won't start until it completely cools down.

I've had the following replaced .. spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor button, camshaft position sensor or whatever that little round part is called that's under the distributor cap and the battery. The alternator is fine. It was checked at the time the battery was purchased.

Any other ideas? This is getting really frustrating. Thank you!!!

If getting old the CKPS (crankshaft position sensor) will start to suffer from heat-sink. The CKPS is very much a pita to change out, behind the pass head on the back of the block/bellhousing mounting area. As it gets hot it fails, this will drop spark from the ign system. Other opt is the fuel pump if old it will also fail slowly or work intermitantly. For a 98 fuel psi should be 49 at the rail.

Edit to add; Possible ign coil.
