Hi All

i need some advice over here in England UK, i have a 2002 4.7 dodge ram 1500, and i have been doing alot of towing lately and the gearbox has started doing strange things, sitting at about 60mph the revs are going up and down 300-400 rpm as if its trying to change gear, it also seems to stik in gears and change down for no apparent reason.the engine light has come on and i have tried to read the codes, there is a few but 0765 and 0305 have come up, just to add a complexity its converted to run on LPG gas (propane) or gas and it does the same on both,

any advice would be great

First off welcome. The 305 code is a misfire cylinder 5, pull the plug in that cylinder and see what it looks like. Im checking on the other be right back.

What other codes ya getting? This is a short write up for the p0765 which is the drive solinoid but could also be a false reading covering the PCM.

Discussion:
When servicing an automatic transmission on any of the vehicles listed above, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC’s) displayed relating to transmission solenoids, may be misleading. The following DTC’s: P0755, P0750, P0760, P0765, P0770, P2706, could be displayed indicating solenoid faults when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is actually at fault. If any of these DTC’s are encountered, Check the Powertrain Control Module manufacture date. The date is shown in the Module Serial Number on the label attached to the front of the module. The serial number is a 14 digit alpha numeric code which is located on the bottom of the part label. A sample of the number is shown below:

MODULE S/N T65EH2333D55N6

The manufacture date code is shown in the 6th through 9th digits. In this case the manufacture date code would be: H235 3 (Day of the Year - Year) day 235 of year 2003. If any of these DTC’s are present and the PCM manufacture date code is between H2313 and H2393 The fault is likely to be in the PCM. Replace the PCM and check for any other DTC’s before replacing the solenoids. The “Hâ€￾ in the code indicates modules built in Huntsville. This bulletin applies only to Huntsville Modules.

im getting a few codes 0101 0765 0075 0121 0305 0675 some of them are down to the LPG system and the fact the truck has No cat and the Rear sensor in the exhaust has a spaecer in to remove it from the gas flow in the exhaust,

reading this forum i also have the dreaded smell of anti freeze, low heat, leaking heater core problem !

just need to get the transmission sorted first though

Really weird, took the truck out for a run today and Transmission ran perfectly, maybe its just being overloaded when im towing about 2 tons of boat with it.

still getting 0121 and 0305 codes, took the number 5 plug and coil pack and swapped it with no1 today and still the same fault code, i have a feeling the 0121 code could be something to do with the Module sending the voltade to the throttle ?

Serial number of Transmission module is TEH31213LNEC
