Just picked up my truck from the Auto Body shop.
Truck got rear ended and was in shop for 2 weeks.
Truck needed new/used short bed - tailgate -and rear bumper. Also needed bodywork behind the passenger side cab, the bed was pushed into it.

Bed was removed and a used one installed and painted.

Daughter picked up truck and when she came home and later was backing out the driveway I noticed the reverse lights did not work both sides.
All other rear light work ok.

Is it possible the body shop left off some connection or would it be the revers light switch I think mounted on the tranny?

Is there not a switch under the steering column. I ask this because she is also having a hard time getting out of park into reverse to back up, have to keep hitting the brake pedal and play with the shift lever to move the shift lever.

Any help much appreciated

First something else is wrong with your truck that the shop did not fix. Take it back.
For the electrical problem, the shop most likely just unbolted the old one, and then dropped on the used one, with its old wiring and all. Make them tell you where your old bed is so you can get the harness off it and use it instead of the one that came with the used bed.

I took the truck back and they fixed the lights. The sockets the bulbs sit in were a bit rusted they cleaned both sides and white grease them and now they all work.

thanks
