2006 Cummins 5.9 - When i drive this about 1-1/2 to to 2 hours, the Wait to start indicator will come on. Engine scanner does not show any codes (DTC) but pushing the erase button will clear the indictor. Looking for suggestions as to what is causing this to come on. I could drive it an hour or so, turn it off let everything cool down to ambient temperature, and repeat; no issues. This only comes on during longer driving periods.

Google comes up with all kinds of various reasons, and solutions. Any help greatly appreciated.

The grid heater is set to come on when the temp sensor reads a temp at or below 66 degrees, fyi its listed in the owners manual

I've had this truck for several years, and understand that the grid heater needs to cycle. In the past when the grid heater would cycle the indicator would not come on.

I noticed I left a major detail out in my initial post. When this happens the audio indicator (seat belt, headlights on, door adjar, etc.) will beep ten times. The indicator stays on, and never goes off until cleared. If the engine is started in this condition, it beeps five times.

Engine seems to run fine under normal conditions; but gutless if you want to try and pass someone.
