I think adding long tube headers is the most significant performance modification that one can add.

I'm thinking about it but which one, 1-3/4" or 1-7/8"? What is the performance difference?

The 1-3/4" vs the 1-7/8" primary is the million dollar question on this forum. It's proven that 1-3/4" off the line will provide more torque while the 1-7/8" primary will carry more peak HP. Question is really how much difference and is it noticeable? We look at it this way, how do you drive your truck, what mods do you have now and what future mods are you planning. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with either size.

If you have any questions we are here to help.

The 1 3/4" will be better for you if you do a lot of towing or low range off-roading. They will provide more of a bump in torque down low for stop light to stop light power.

The 1 7/8" will offer more of a max HP potential, with a torque increase closer toward the mid range RPMs. These would be great if you do a lot of highway driving and want the 40-80 passing power. The larger primaries are also recommended if you have or plan on installing power adders.

You will feel a power increase across the rpm range with either size, the question is simply intended use.

We have a great sale on SW going on right now. Feel free to give us a shout with any questions: http://www.ramforum.com/f145/stainless_works_tax_return_aka_mod_stimulus_package_sale-45071/

Thanks for answers. I remember having this conversation with you guys back in 2005 when I put your LTs on my 6.0L GTO, i went with the 1 3/4" and will likely do the same here. I shouldn't do it but I remember the gains the Goat got after the headers and before the custom dyno tune, it turned into more of a beast than what was.

I'm older now and don't bend as well as I did in 2005, must talk with oldest son, he will have to do the install.

Any gotchas under the RAM hood when installing the headers? If you remember back, we had to pass the steering linkage through the headers on the GTO, PITA.

Thanks

Are these 1500 only or do they bolt in to the 2500 Hemi also?

Can you pls specify the dimensions of packages for longtubes and exhaust complete in order to check shipment costs to Russia. I don't think I will need y-pipe if I bought the tubes complete or something I do not understand quite right?
What would you recommend- 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 if I have vararam central intake, diablo, 87mm TB and will not go further (at the present moment :)? My truck is 2013 5.7 8-speed.

Is your truck 2wd or 4wd. How do you use/drive the truck, street only or maybe take it to the strip?

The whole 1-3/4" vs. 1-7/8" is a big debate over here as of late, both will make really good power since the motor is plenty strong.

PM me an address or check with Andy at Got Exhaust.com for pricing, they may offer a better overall package deal.

Was seriously considering picking up a set of these 1 3/4" headers until I noticed a guy selling a used set of ARH longtubes.. Now I'm buying those.

Unless you guys feels like price matching lol.. Then we can talk!!!
