I have a 2010 2500 4x4 with the 6.7 engine. I am experiencing a bizarre issue. Earlier this week, when I put the truck in gear (Drive or Reverse) it would operate normally until I pressed the gas pedal. Then it would lag for a second and surge. I would put the breaks on and it would try to surge through the breaks as I quickly put it in park. It was repeating pretty regularly. I had a more intermittent version of this issue earlier this fall that went away when I changed the hub and u-joint on the passenger side. When this started earlier this week, I remembered that I needed to change the drivers side hub and u-joint. With the new hub and u-joint installed, it only does the surge when I put it in reverse. I am not a mechanic in any since of the word. I can google how to do "x" repair and generally be able to accomplish it. Slowly, but I can accomplish it. I tried googling this and out of 4 browsers, I got 4 different solutions to the problem. Has anyone here had this problem or better yet, solved this problem?

Sounds like you have a faulty throttle position sensor. Is the CEL on? If so, what codes?

It hasn't displayed any codes and I don't know what a CEL is.

CEL=Check Engine Light. Many times a faulty throttle position sensor will not throw a code, but just checking.

Yes, the CEL is on, it shows that the tire inflation sensor needs attention.

We live a few miles from the Canadian Border and it is a fairly common problem for the air pressure sensors to get messed up with snow and mud.

I read on one of my search results where a few guys with 4th gens were having Torque Converters starting to fail intermittently doing this same thing. Have you heard of this issue in that regard?

Yeah, I was going to say it might be your torque converter as well although this would be rarer than TPS failure. If you do need to replace it, I would recommend replacing it with an ultra low stall TC if you tow.
