I have discovered that Key FOB programming and Backup Camera programming must be done at the Dealer because the generic key fob programming instructions do not work on 2010 models. Also I purchased a new OEM NAV radio and backup camera from Infotainment.com which included an OBDGenie to program the truck so it knows I now have the backup camera. I have subsequently been told that OBD Genie programmers provided for this purpose also do not work on the 2010 models.
Has anyone else heard of this issue with the 2010's? Does anyone know of a workaround? I have an appointment at my local Dodge dealer for this Saturday but am not looking forward to a $300 charge.

Thank you.

You should look into AlfaOBD and see if it can do what you are trying to do. Here is a specific thread that covers your year...

I dropped off my truck at my local dealer Cape Coral Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM to ADD a new keyfob and to reprogram the trucks computer to add the backup camera and NAV radio. I explained to the service writer in detail that I had added a backup camera and NAV radio (730N RER) to my truck and that the computer had to be reprogrammed to add the backup camera and keyfob. Four hours later called to say that the keyfob was done, but they couldn't get the backup camera to work and that my new radio must be defective. I was held hostage for a full bill of $365.27 in order to get my keys back. $199 of this charge (plus shop supplies and tax of course) was for their time spent on the backup camera.
So when I got home, I ordered the OBDlink MX+ ($125) and downloaded AlphaODB on my phone ($49). Once installed, I was able to reprogram the truck in 15 minutes. The next morning (after the various compuers in the truck had time to talk) the backup camera worked perfectly.
I contacted the dealers customer service folks for a refund of the $199 charge, but they of course refused. They gave me a myriad of excuses "the radio was defective" (it wasn't), "I didn't buy the right radio for the vehicle" (I did), "I didn't buy it from them" (not required), "I didn't buy it from a Dodge dealer" (not required, bought the camera kit/NAV radio from infotainment.com) So I had no choice but to dispute the credit card charge.

for the guy that has Alpha ODB programming issues. Did you go back in and verify that the settings you changed stuck? If so, and they were the right settings send email to the Alpha OBD folks and see if they can help. Read my note above, the dealers do not know what they are doing. There is more knowledge in this forum than anywhere else on the planet. Do your research and good luck!

Sounds reasonable. They shouldn't have accepted the work if they didn't think they could perform it.
