2013 check gas cap message

I have been lurking around the forum for a while until I was finally worthy enough to get a 2013 CC Big Horn 4x4. Here is my first Dodge issue;
So I came back from a 400 mile road trip yesterday, and I come out to start the truck, and I get a "Check gas cap" message this morning. I have checked the gas cap multiple times today for tightness and the error keeps coming back. Is a trip to the dealer in my near future, or is there a way to clear the error message? I did try the search function, but my search-fu must suck.

I would take it back to the dealer and let them clear the message; an also let them give it a good look over. This will also start your paper trail if the problem persist.

I see that some things haven't changed from the 3g to the 4g. Try using some vasoline on the rubber seal to see if that 'll hold the code off. If it does then the cap needs to be changed. However they can be very fickle about which caps will hold a seal.

It should be an easy fix but you shouldn't be out of pocket for it. I would also see your dealer.

It sounds like a bad gas cap, a friends new f-150 did the same thing, it's not just a dodge thing
