I was also pleasantly surprised with my gas mileage so far on my 2014 hemi 1500. Only at 1600 miles and already averaging 20.2 mpg! Coming from 5 years of averaging 15.8 in a modded Wrangler I'm more than happy.

Yeah I drive 95% highway and I'm only getting a little under 18 averaging around 65-70 mph but i have a 2013 4x4 HEMI and it only has 1300 miles on it. I'm guessing you guys with 20+ mph are 2x4?

That's pretty good MPG. In my 2012 Hemi (4x4) I average around 18.2mpg with about a 70% city/30%highway with 16k on the odo

I'm only getting 11mpg in my Sport. 95% city driving with lots of hills though.

I am averaging around 18 city and anywhere between 19-21mpg highway, ive noticed my truck gets better milage at about 75mph. mine is a crew long bed 4x4 that i weighed it at around 8400lbs. we have scales at work.
there is a huge improvement with fuel milage on the 13+ trucks compaired to the 12's and older. the front axle disconnect and the active ram intake and the scr systems on the 6.7 cummins has done its job on fuel milage improvements.

I wonder if we all should not be checking milage, the old fashioned way. I have heard that the computer is not as accurate as one would guess, and favors the higher numbers. Now why do you suppose that is?? ,,Brian

:High 5:I am seeing 21-23mpg highway and 17-19 city I just went over 2000 miles. I also got 17 towing a 4k car and trailer behind, I LOVE my 13 CTD. I did ear about the computer maybe high, heck my last 2500 had computer so I guess I like seeing the better numbers it is gratifying. Have fun with yours. Semper Fi Joe!

Those are some good numbers for your '13 CTDs and are probably pretty close to true. The only way to really know is to calculate by hand. But if seeing those good numbers makes you enjoy your truck just a little bit more, then what you are actually getting doesn't really matter. Enjoy the ride. :)

Fear not. I have a 2013 5.7 4X4 and I see a pretty consistent 21mpg when I do only interstate and that is with 8,000 miles on the clock

My computer is about 0.5mpg optimistic. Very consistent though.

always hand calculate it. although the evic on the 13's is known to be more accurate that doesnt mean it is accurate. ive found the evic on the older trucks to be as much as 5mpg off and my new 13 seems to be between 1-2 mpg off depending if i drive more city than highway.

Doc this was one of the BIG reason I went to a Diesel after only 10 months with the HEMI, when I was pulling something Igot around 9. I believe there was a sensor in the bed that went off anytime I put something in the back or pulled that would tell the gas to drop...LOL
However I am extremely please with the Cummins I have saved $25 a weekend with gas savings. Hope the trip goes well for you.

I'm getting 20mpg combined highway /city. I was getting 18 but the ole girl is getting better with age. I've 7,600 miles on the clock now. I started using Lucas fuel additive and I can feel a difference in how she runs (a lot smoother performance).

I'm right there with you. My day to day driving is 14 mpg or less. Two weekends ago me and my better half did a little out of town trip and I averaged just shy of 19 mpg (hand calculated). That was probably 95% highway. I've installed a CAI and cat back in hopes of getting a little better mileage but now I'm just driving it harder. Oh well, such is life.

I just took a trip to KC over the weekend. Set the cruise at 83mph and got 15.5mpg on the way there and 17.5 on the way back. Was using 91 E0 on the way down and 89 E10 on the way back. Must have been a lot of wind on the way down.

I am ordering a Vararam and Mufflex system this week along with changing over to Redline synthetic. Hoping it also helps MPG even a little would be great.
