2013 ram 1500 V6, 6 speed transmission fluid change

My daughter in laws vehicle has 142k miles and needs some work. It was her mothers’s truck who recently passed away from Covid and she really wants to keep the truck. I was reviewing service records I could find, and the transmission fluid has never been changed. The mechanic said I have to get a new after market pan to change the fluid as the manufacture’s one cannot be reinstalled. Can anyone shed light on this? thanks in advance

It's the 8spd pan that you replace when servicing the transmission as it is also the filter. If the truck has a rotary knob for the gear shift, the truck has the 8 spd transmission.
If I remember correctly the '13 was the first year for the 3.6L V6 in the Ram truck which was only mated with the 8 spd
