It takes a few weeks for the factory get a build up with trucks before they are released for shipping. they want to make sure when they are shipped and delivered that every dealer get theirs about the same time...within a week or so of each other. and also for quality control.
Remember, they just overhauled about everything...so there may be something that they find during production that could possibly if shipped cause a recall. they would rather hold them and get them right than have a recall branded right out of the door.
There's not too much info out about a release date. I did find this online though...
Ram's major refresh for 2013 includes significant upgrades to powertrain, interior and chassis. Collectively, they make a good truck a good deal better. Most models have an on-sale date of October 1. The Hemi/8-speed combination is slated to arrive in the first quarter of 2013.
I know a nice lady that's works for a dealership in Miami. She orders all the vehicles, packages and all for that store. She places the orders and gets an email when and what ships her way. She knows about when it will arrive from experience but even she can't tell exactly when her order will arrive. If she doesn't know how can anyone else? It's probably a guess-timation. I'd call her for you but they no longer sell Dodge. They're strictly a Chevy store now.
