Hey. I had a question that I hope someone here could help me with.

I got a 2014 5.7 Ram (305km) that finally had a lifter go on me. I found a nice low km (95k) 5.7 out of a 2012 hemi.

I did the swap and only difference was the crankshaft sensor and throttle body. I took the one from my 2014 and put it into the 2012 motor.

Truck runs but I was wondering if I should flash the pcm because of changing out that sensor and throttle body. Not sure if they are the same reluctor wheel or not.

Someone mentioned that by flashing the pcm with the 2012 motor might cause more issues to arise. And they said best getting one out of a 2012 and installing it. The few Chrysler Techs i talked to haven't been that helpful.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

If it had a different reluctor it probly wouldnt even start or anything. The throttle body is easy, just calibrate it and done, it's the same engine so no need for a tune unless you wanted to do that. Tb calibration procedure:
  1. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine.
  2. Wait for all warning lights to go out (the check engine light may remain on).
  3. Slowly depress the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and then slowly release it.
  4. Turn the ignition key to the “OFF” position.
  5. Start the engine and drive the vehicle
