I like the look of "tow lights" aka roof marker lights.

I can't decide. I generally like how they look, and I wouldn't expect them to be that hard to install, but what do you guys think? I'm torn.

My truck:

Tow lights (otherwise known as roof marker lights):

EDIT: These are the Mopar ones I'd get. They appear white until lit (white lenses, orange bulbs):

Aren't those clearance lights? They look good. I think they'd work well with black.

Personally wouldn't get them unless the truck had a lift or even a level with bigger tires.

I love them but I personally seem them as a heavy duty thing. I have installed them before and you will be drilling into your roof, that first time you take a drill to your roof it makes you a little nerves. It you truck if you like them I say go for it, I know there is a lot of mixed signals here but everyone has there own thing.

Here is a picture I found on Google.

Yeah, I don't like them on a 1500. Unless maybe it is lifted. I have installed a few sets of the mopar ones. They are easy to install but It feels a little sketchy drilling into someone roof. And I always called them clearance lights.

I personally love my clearance lights but i wouldnt put them on a half ton without at least a lift and tires...maybe consider a set of smoked ones those would go well with the black imo

Heres mine..it is a heavy duty but i love the look of cab lights regardless :)

Well, a lift and tires aren't in my plans; I don't have any off-roading in mind, and without that, well...a lift and big tires in this city would be a waste. :)

And clearance lights is indeed another name I've heard them called.

I dunno...I like their look, and the first truck I ever saw them on was a regular cab HD...no lift or big tires. I'll have to think about this some more. You may or may not see updated pictures, depending on whether I decide to get them.

Thanks all!

I say go for it dude as long as your confortable drilling holes in your roof..personally i think if you dress the truck up right it will look great even without a lift and tires...you dont need those they just help the look lol

If you choose to get a set buy the factory ones or Putco, skip Recons
It took my friend and I about 3 hrs to install them on his 2500 and most of that time was spent laying them out and remeasureing

This is on my wish list. Think they look awesome. Think they'll make the whole rig look awesome towing at night. Half ton or not. Seems appropriate if you're towing.

Thanks guys. I'm still undecided, but I'm not in a hurry...I'll figure it out.
