Had fun with the toys this weekend. Truck is running good at 144k miles, for now just towing my trailer and little rigs, but now i have to deal with the new repair stuff.
Air service bag has started to pop up, but now that i have a scanner that can read those silly codes i can see the new issue is with the air bag yellow plug under the driver seat. It comes and goes, so if i wiggle the plug out the error goes away. Not sure how to fix that yet.

The other issue the truck has developed is i have 2 broken bolts on the driver side manifold, seem to be the usual ones that break closest to the engine firewall, i went underneath to check and sure enough i can move the entire heatshield by hand on that corner and she's got the horrible sound that that makes.

I know initially i thought of installing shorty headers since i went through the broken manifolds before, but the dealer fixed this for me (Passenger side back in 2018). Now days i think there is a company making OE like manifolds and it'll be cheaper that way since i only need the driver side :)

Oh well, for now i'll continue to drive her while i think how do i want to tackle the issues as they come.

Still a great looking truck.

On my trip to CO my passenger side started to leak bad. I assume it's the manifold bolts as well. Be interested to know why you're going to stay with manifolds rather than headers. I want to go long tube but finances at the time are keeping me at the shorty level.

If i go with headers it has to be shorties cause there is no long tubes that are CARB legal :( Our smog is just plug the obd2 port and that's it, but every couple of years or so we have to go through a more detailed oriented smog inspection and if they see the headers they'll ask for the carb sticker. Here they don't care for mufflers as long as you don't exceed 95DB at 3750 rpm, but headers will be flagged, heck an aftermarket intake will be flagged, so items such at these have to have a carb sticker.

This is the option i found for OE manifolds from BD Diesel, $283 for one side.
Sheesh. Exspendy for what they are. I figure if I'm going to be in it, I may as well do both. I don't have the smog restrictions here like CA, hell, no inspections actually. It is amazing to me though that JBA and BBK shorties are as expensive as they are now. Few years ago they were bottom of the barrel. Well they're still at the bottom, but just a lot more dollar for the bang. On top of that the $150 for the drill template to get the broken bolts out. OOF.

Well good luck on the manifold swap. I think I'm a couple of months away from that yet. I think.
