2014 ram fire

Well after six months of owning my brand new 2014 ram 1500 she is gone. It had spent the last two weeks in and out of the shop for electrical issues and Thursday evenings while driving home it burst into flames out of the engine compartment.

Holy crap is right. Hope everyone was alright. I'm assuming it was the dealerships shop that was working on it? Someone owes you a new truck.

Glad all are okay and best of luck dealing with your insurance and Chrysler. I'm sure both will take very good care of you. Just don't let this one bad experience sour you on Chrysler/Ram as I've owned them on/off since the late 70's and this is the first I've seen to burst into flames.

Can you explain the "electrical issues" you were having so the rest of us can keep an eye out for our trucks? Thanks.

Thanks guys I was the only one in the vehicle at the time, and I am alright. Yes it was the dealership s shop that was working on the truck.

The truck was giving me the fits with the abs and traction control, it would flash all the lights on the dash then you couldn't touch the brakes or it would lock up solid. Then at the end it was dying and giving a service electronic throttle control message on the dash. Yes the hood melted all the way through!
