2015 Ram MDS Delete

Hello everyone, I feel I unfortunately reached the point with the 5.7 Hemi that I either have to replace the lifters (cylinder 1 misfire with a heavy tick) or sell the truck. I have done a little bit of research on MDS Delete kits by BTR and AMS racing. However, I honestly don't know enough about engines to know which to get. I am truthfully trying to buy one that someone else can help me install to save some change on the labor costs. Seeing as this is a common problem with these engines, I am hopeful this is the proper area to ask for assistance deciding what to get. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Just for reference:
-I already changed the plugs, coil pack, and fuel injector.
-The code does not populate until higher RPMs and there is a heavy popping in the exhaust at 1400 RPM in certain gears.
-I am not trying to tune the truck after the install has been dune, but if absolutely necessary I have someone that can help with it as well.
-I don't need any exponential increase in power. Nor do I need to chop of the "Truck Norris" setup.

If you do an MDS delete, you will indeed need an unlocked PCM/ECM and a tuner to turn the MDS system off in the PCM/ECM permanently.
That will add considerable $$$$ to the repair costs.

To keep costs down, I would stay with the MDS and if you want to disable for any reason, just do it with the gear select buttons on the wheel when needed.

Your truck and your money, so it's your call.

If you're looking at cam kits that delete the MDS,stick with outfits like FRP (Flying Ryan Performance) / MMX / Moes etc. that actually specialize in the Hemi

I've looked into new MDS sets too, it just seems like the delete kits have better quality options. All the MDS options I have found are definitely cheaper but seeing them come from less reputable sources concerns me. Do you have any recommendations? I'm always open to saving $$, I just don't want to install something that's going to fail again right away.

OEM MDS cam, solenoids and with the OEM hellcat lifters. If not OEM, then MMX Flying Ryan Performance) / Moes for good quality.

Also same vendors for non-MDS components.

Avoid ebay and Amazon for obvious reasons.

+1 on everything suggested by @Wild one and @04fxdwgi. Make sure you check out everything as you go.

Not sure the mileage on your Ram, but there are chances for worn pushrods, rocker arms, valves, guides, etc.

I went through this with my '15 SLT at 201K miles, and ended up dropping ~$6K pretty easy WITHOUT doing an MDS delete, simply because of worn components and replacing other components I might not have needed (all with mostly OE parts) because I didn't want to have to open her up twice.

I have a 2011, had the same issue. The mechanic rebuilt the top end without MDS. Can with the tuning chip.

I have run it for 4 years and I am 80k on the top end, 205k on the odometer with no issues.

Grateful it is gone.
