I recently purchased a 2015 Ram SLT. I stopped at my feed store on the way home and had them load a 750# round roll of hay into the back. As soon as the roll hit the floor of my truck the radio and phone quit. The screen went totally blank until I got home and unloaded the round roll. I then pulled my key. At first I had radio in the auxillary key position then I pulled the key completely and let it rest awhile. I put the key back in and had full radio again. Today, a day later, I went out and looked closer. When I opened the tailgate I see that there is wiring routed from the body of the truck into the tailgate. It appears to be professional and from the factory but a section of it was pinched between the bed and tailgate. I am wondering now if the weight of the roll added to the pinch and the problem. Anybody have similar problems? I will try to attach photos. I don't know why there would be wiriing going into the tailgate?? I have no power options on the tailgate and no back up camera. I will try to upload pictures of the wiring.20181019_105443.jpg USER_SCOPED_TEMP_DATA_MSGR_PHOTO_FOR_UPLOAD_1539960932293.jpg_1539960936885.jpeg

Your tailgate wiring is for the lock. When you lock your truck with the FOB, the tailgate also locks.

I thought that too and tried to lock it with the fob but it didn't work. I wonder what happens if you want to take the gate off?? I guess you just have to do one more step and unplug it. Thanks!
