Hello,

I recently acquired a 2015 ram 2500 tradesman crew cab.
It was a former industrial work truck for a local commercial door company, and the seat covers are
in pretty rough shape.

I have a chance to purchase a full set of OEM take-off seat covers/upholstery from a
2019 ram 2500 tradesman crew cab. The console and rear seat is the same configuration as mine.

I'd like to install the 2019 seat covers on the 2015 frames.

The person selling the 2019 seat covers swears they won't fit and won't work.
They can't explain why, other than "they are different".

The seat frames are both the Gen 4, DS style...........
.....(NOT the DT/double side bolster/shoulder pad type).

I really think it should be possible to do what I'm trying to do, but I'd like your input.

What do you think? Opinions please?

Thanks
Rich

If I saw a picture I could probably tell but it should fit.

Center console or lack thereof is the same, neither has under-console storage, both have the folding bench seat
in the rear (no 60/40, no arm rest) .

I can't understand why the seller thinks I can't put the 2019 covers on the 2015 seats, unless they are thinking the 2019 is a Gen 5 which
clearly it is not. Maybe I'd agree with gen 4 and 1/2, as some places online refer to them.

Only thing different I can find is the stitching.

What do you guys think?

I feel like I must be missing something.

thanks

A 2019 Heavy Duty has the same seats as a 2010 to 2018 HeavyDuty

Same cab similar bed same doors etc.

Front end parts...tailgate bumpers frame are different.

Mmm...idk guys. The seat TRACKS are different, but ANY variation in the padding between the two “gens” will prevent the covers from working. I’m not saying I know one way or the other, just saying that seat COVERS aren’t as easily interchangeable as the seats themselves.

That's fair but these are the same generation. Even the 5th gen HDs (2020+) are 4th gens from the cab (except dash) on back.

You could be right though. Personally, I'd swap whole seats. It's easier than trying to get the covers attached/detached from the cushions.

Right, they’re technically the same, but with new seat skins MAY have come slightly revised seat cushion shapes to accommodate, in which case even the slightest variation would prevent the skins from swapping. Again, not saying they won’t, only that to the naked eye, it’s REALLY hard to tell. OP might have to just take the dive on this one and find out.

Thanks for the responses so far. I'm still kicking it around.
Hopefully they don't sell before I make up my mind what I want to do.
