I have seen many post about this and trying to find out what happened.

Two weeks ago the truck wouldn't start and so we jumped it and went and purchased a new battery.

We took our truck to the dealer last week because it wouldn't start. We had to jump the (new) battery to drive it there. On arrival they connected to the computer and said it was throwing codes and there was a lot of draw from the battery. A day later they called and said we needed to replace the alternator and the battery. We did not allow them to replace the battery as it was only 3 days old but they did replace the alternator. They replaced the alternator, we had to jump the truck when we went to pick it up (after hours) and immediately noticed when we got in and turned the truck on the "door open" stayed on. I got out and tested all the doors but they were closed. It finally went out.

Drove the truck home without issue and noticed the instrument cluster would not go out and there was that "door open" again. Cluster stayed on for hours. Next day had to jump the truck. We brought the truck back and unfortunately it took them 5 days before they even looked at it again. They called and said it was still throwing a bunch of codes and the battery was being drained. They allegedly spent the day pulling modules and components to try and figure out why there was still such a draw from the battery.

Today they called and said they figured it out after 8 hours of labor and we need to replace the HVAC component module at $1,200.00.

They cannot explain why they didn't look further into the draw from the battery last week although they claim when they installed the new alternator they cleared all the codes and allegedly nothing showed. Hard to believe.

Their other defense is they would not have seen the instrument cluster lit up during the day, however we pointed out to them that they should have seen the door open signal when the door closed.

Anyone else have this same issue or replace the HVAC module? Concern here is that it is HVAC today and will be something else next week.

It appear to be known to them as another tech was helping because he had a similar issue with another vehicle. They don't seem to be addressing the issue but there are a lot of people with the same one.

Any help, feedback, experiences would be appreciated. Thank you.
