I have never had success with Michelin. Early tread ware or cracking sidewalls.

In my only two experiences with Michelin is that they refused to wear out, and are nicely resistant to abuse. When I got over 6 years and 80k miles on them, and they still looked new, I was starting to get tired of them :)

There are a couple different load ranges on the defender, some are stiffer than others.

I've had nothing but good results with Michelin LTX tires on my work vans. Usually would put at least 80K miles on a set. The vans typically weighs over 8K lbs and beat like a rented mule...lol
Have you checked the air pressure, some tire places just inflate to sidewall pressure.

I'm a little interested in the problems some of you have had with the Mich. One question I have is, Did you check the manufacture date of the tires to insure they hadn't been in the rack for months and months. Maybe the sidewalls on older tires would have a tendency to crack---I really have no idea, that why I'm asking.

I put a set of Michelin LTX M/S2 on my previous 3rd Gen Ram. Loved 'em. Very smooth, quiet ride. I plan to replace the OEM Goodyear tires on my 2017 with another set of LTXs, whenever the time comes.

I'm curious how recent this data is. My last four vehicles were shod in Michelin Defenders when they needed new tires. Excellent ride and wear, and I'm from Michigan so wet and snow traction are important. That's another reason I stick with them. Also, if you know someone with them, look at the minimal amount of weights it took to balance them.

Yes the LTX M/S does ride stiffer than the factory Goodyear's. I had a set put on my old 2015 Ram and noticed right away that the ride was totally different and took some getting used too. You will also notice that the truck handles a hell of a lot better especially in the rain and even in light snow compared to the Goodyears.

had the same tires on 2 tundras and did not notice the ride change like the ram...dips and bumps not bad buts the pot holes and bumps close to each other are real noticeable drop the air pressure down to 36 but did not help much. Dont know if a different kind of strut might help

It's been ten years or so since I have run Micheline. Two sets on wife's car and two sets on my vehicle at the time. Same result each time. Traction is pretty important by me also here in the salt belt.

I love my Michelins, They are quiet, ride great and wear like iron.
What's not to like?
i agree!

i just replaced my 35" toyos with the defenders on my 18 ram because im starting a business and will be traveling across the country at times. i worked for Ram untill just recently and am well aware of how the goodyears ride, and these Defenders ltx m/s are like freaking butter. so smooth, the noise level is almost none, they feel so safe in the rain, im extremely impressed.
