Back story my FIL passed and left it to my wife, what preventative maintenance needs to occur on a 6.7 for longevity. I am a able mechanic myself but I’m not super familiar with the 6.7 platform just the 5.9. Thanks for the help. It also has 259k miles on it.

Is it worth it to install a FASS or AirDog or is the factory system good for fuel?

Thanks for the comments fellas, (and lady fellas if applicable). But I did a dang near full service on the truck and that factory filter system is a pain to swap out compared to the airdog on my 5.9. What’s y’alls average swap out intervals on the fuel filters ?

The engine fuel filter, maybe 15 minutes including the two interruptions from the wife. The rear filter, around 30 minutes. I have the MaxCare 8 year on my 2015, no way am I going with anything aftermarket.

If the truck is a 4x4 make sure to grease the CV joint in the front drive shaft at every oil change interval. A failed front DS has been known to do multiple thousands of dollars damage when they burst apart at highway speed.

No, the constant velocity joint at the transfer case end of the front driveshaft. This joint uses a special needle type fitting to grease, but I don't recall the name for it. My truck has a reminder sticker under the hood about greasing this joint.

Ahh ok I know what your talking about, I have the special needle for greasing those, I’ll have to get to it next time I’m around the truck.

My fuel filter interval usually runs about 12000 miles. 62k on the truck and no issues so far.
