Greetings, need some input : 2019 Bighorn 2500 cummins 6.7 4x4 had since 12 miles on odometer now at 7700 miles.

what is your volt gauge read when you start up truck , and does it hang around at the 1/4 mark and then eventually rise to a tad over 1/2 mark in about 30 secs? (dealer stated this is normal) i called BS

Mine use to hit the 1/2 mark consistently in seconds until now. It hovers at 1/4 and gradually increase in about a minute dealer says it was a battery sensor and replaced. Still does the same thing. Here is what happened.. sorry lengthy but man I hate service at dealership.

While driving the low voltage saver came on and shut all the electrical devices off but ran. ( Manual says this only comes on when truck is not running) pulled over recycled the truck and it went away. All gauges normal. It was 65f out side. called dealer and set up appt to get it looked at.

Two days later got in and started it and noticed the voltage gauge at it's 1/4 mark and volts said 11/12V. It took about 2 mins to get back to 14.2V cycled truck same thing , drove 45 mins and shut truck off started and again same problem. 64F outside temp.

drove to dealership and dropped off. they had it for two weeks and after dropping in unannounced they said they had a battery sensor to replace. Get call the following day says truck ready. Pick up truck and started it and same thing. Went back in and told them it's doing the same thing again.

Service guy goes and talks to mechanic and comes back and said it's normal since there is a grid heater that takes alot of voltage. I call bs and said I have been in temps from 16f to 125f and Everytime I have started it the volt meter immediately rises to one needle width higher than the half mark..always..up until now.

I asked them did they analyze the batteries and the guy said it it's normal. I asked then why does drivers battery have 28 ohms of resistance and the passenger side was at 2 ohm? I had put the batteries on my battery tester prior to going to dealer just to see. I kept batteries connected , and each test I turned on lights for 10 sec just to get rid of any residual and tested. (pics below)

I left truck again and they said they would test bats today. ( Instructions on battery tester said to leave bat in and test which I followed. But is it accurate when two batteries are connected?).

Thanks for any help. I wanted to get everyone's input on volt gauge since they said it's normal. BS it's worked normal until now. wanted to get everyones opinion on that their volt gauge does, i know i am not crazy lol. 83806465_10157890397093427_3388044278109306880_n.jpg83827101_10157890397183427_2347906707729940480_n.jpg

OK
1) I am not a mechanic, just turn wrenches when I need to.
2) Looks like U got 2 batteries in a parallel, like old Military.
3) Looks like one of your batteries is bad.

ALL above IMHO, do nothing on what I say but go find a garage with a Mechanic that knows his diesels and systems.
