Hey guys,

i bough a new 2019 2500 6.7 Laramie in March of this year, and after driving it a few thousand miles I started hearing a loud pop and bang coming from under the truck. They replaced the running boards because they said it was causing the noice. Well after they put that on it’s still making the noice. I told them I can feel it at my feet, almost feels like a control arm is loose or is binding. They told me they would but ears on it and found a body mount issue. They told me they can’t hear it again and asked me to get the truck.

3 1/2 weeks I’m the shop and the truck is STILL making a suspension knocking noise. They are trying to solve it but can’t seem to figure it out. I have 6k on the truck now and I am taking it back tomorrow. Have any of y’all had the same issues.

Are you saying when you hit bumps? I get a banging when I hit rough bumps and my 2016 3500 Mega didn't do it. I checked the spare tire and when I had the oil changed and tires rotated, nothing is loose. I thought a bushing is missing but nothing.

front end suspension.jpg DOES IT DO IT MORE PROMINENTLY WHEN MAKING A TIGHT TURN? (CV Shaft) 1500-2500

DOES IT DO IT WORSE ON A ANY BUMP? (BROKEN SHOCK)1500-2500

DOES IT DO IT WHEN YOU HIT A SHARP BUMP? (SWAY-BAR BALL JOINT)1500-2500

DOES IT DO IT ALL THE TIME? (UPPER OR LOWER BALL JOINT)1500

ONE MORE POSSIBILITY.....(HUB BEARINGS)1500

ALL THESE THINGS I'VE POSTED ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE INDEPENDENT/SOLID FRONT AXLES'

CHECK EVERY BALL JOINT AND SUSPENSION MOUNT. BREAKS ARE SOMETIMES HIDDEN FROM VIEW.

It’s doing it over bumps at about 45-55 mph. Also started seeing that it’s not doing it at lower speeds. I feel it directly below my feet. I took it in and they said everything was tight.

you may be onto something with shocks because it feel like the wheel stays bouncing and the shock isn’t absorbing the bounce.

The noice I used to get while turning is gone now. The body mount sized that.

I appreciate the help

Thank you, I am trying to work with the dealer for the time being. If things don’t get resolved soon I will reach out to you.

What I am very frustrated with is for being that it’s a 70k+ truck, it sure seems like whoever is doing QC must have been passed out and skipped this one.

Kathryn,

After having my truck spend another 2 weeks at Ram, the issue has returned again. My truck has spend more than 1 1/2 months at ram while they try to figure out what’s going on. They replaced running boards, body mounts, lower control arm on the driver side. A shock but I don’t know what side that was on. I am getting tired of this and I need help getting this resolved.
