Went to the store today, just as I pulled into the parking spot, the volume went crazy loud. Went to turn it down, and it didn't do anything until it was at zero. So the volume is either all or nothing. Came back out and still had the same problem. I've read a few reports about it, and it seems that the problem will vanish with either disconnecting the battery or if the truck sits 30 minutes or more. I've also noticed in the past with the truck off and on acc, the volume will raise for a second or 2 (just a bit) then back to normal. Wondering if it'd be worthwhile doing an update on the uconnect.

Read this thread. I'd have your battery tested. Low voltage will cause crazy things.

Seems to hold some merit. I've been messing around with alpha obd this past week with the truck key on, engine off. I have a battery charger, so maybe I'll throw that on one day to top it off. Shortly after posting, My fiancé took the truck to run some errands and the radio was working fine for her, and has been since for me.
