I'm curious to see if the bed step that's advertised for the 2019's and up will work on the 4th gen trucks. One reason I care is that from the pictures I've seen, they have that little wing on the side to kick it down so the rest of it tucks nice and out of view. I've never owned one so maybe the ones on the previous generations have that wing too. I just can't seem to find a picture.

I know they are different part numbers.

Thanks!

I've got an AMP step on my 2016 2500.. never knew if it was factory or not. If thats what you're looking for I'll get you a picture.

I think 2019 was first year for factory bed step and if it were on earlier GENS, I've never seen one. The '16 Power Wagon didn't have one. I have an AMP step as well. No wing on the AMP, or at least mine doesn't have one.

A friend of mine installed one on his 18. Bolted right up.

Edit: I found a video. It doesn't look any better then my Amp, it tucks pretty far up in there.

Got a picture of that folded up?

I've got the Amp on my 2016 but I've found it a pain to deploy it sometimes. That one looks like it has a little kick-out that you can get you foot on better to deploy it. Half the time with my Amp I have to reach down and push it with my hand because I can't get my foot on it well enough to push it down.

I like the looks of the mopar step. The amp one doesn't look bad either.

If the mopar step works on a 2017 2500 I'm going to seriously consider one or the amp step. Getting into the bed of my 2500 isn't the easiest and I'm short to begin with, which makes it worse.

Thsnks for the info guys.

Looks like the mopar step is over $100 more than the amp step.

From what I can see it does not look $100 nicer so I'm thinking about ordering the amp step. I don't do in truck bed often so I think it would work for me.

Does the amp stick out far enough to step on it with the tailgate down?

Found this on a mopar parts page....looks like the same part number for many years up to 2020.

On back order.....no ETA and $288...so not much more than the amp

so anyone found out if the new DT step will fit on a DS with dual exhaust?
I looked at all other ones and they all either stick out at a funny angle when on a dual exhaust truck, or hang down and look out of place, the new one for the DT doesn't do that an sits high and tight

I've got the amp step on my 2015 3500 RAM and on my 2013 RAM 1500 with dual exhaust. RAM should have offered this solution long ago.

Thanks for the info! The amp step is cheaper and if the functionality is not much different, then why not right?

Only issue I've heard with the amp is the screws that hold the step pad on are not very strong and can strip out/ break easily.

Has yours been solid?

I just use this for the truck.
If I could get the same set up as ford has I would have done it.

So did anyone ever determine the part number to order? I called my local dealer today and they have part number 82215842AG, which is listed for the 19-21 RAM 2500/3500. I have a 2016 RAM 2500 and want the newer style step with the tab on the side. Just checking to see if anyone made the purchase and verified the fitment on a 4th gen HD. Thanks.

Walk into your local
https://www.4wheelparts.com/

& look at the part(s)
They opened the box for me & when i said that i would only buy it, if they would modify it to fit on the passenger side

They told me that they could do that, when ever i was ready.

I bought the AMP Research Bed Step
75310-01A
Dodge Ram 2009 - 2015
Dual Exhaust

I did not go back, i bought a Bedslide instead
Now i don't have to climb into the bed at all
