Hi, Ive owned my 2019 PW since August. I am now ready to start having fun with it (this is my first REAL truck). I would like to run 37 or 38's on it, how much lift do I need to not get any rub at full stuff? How many lift kit options do I have and which should I probably avoid? What would a ballpark guess on cost of install be? Thanks for any input!

I'm pretty sure if you get the right wheel and tire combination (wheel offset) you can stuff 37s on stock suspension or with only a two inch front level.

You can fit 37s with no lift whatsoever. Stock wheels will work but you may get some rub on the radius arm at full lock and at/near the pinch weld. An offset of +18mm to +27mm is the sweet spot for power wagons. I have +18 mm offset wheels with 37" coopers and thuren level springs and had to trim just a bit of plastic near the pinch weld. Nothing short of a 4" lift is gonna help you with tire size. Guys are running 40s with just a level, offroad bumpers and AEV flares on 4th gen rigs

Search the forum and you will find a few 19s that have already put 37” tires on stock rims. @Breaker Alex did it a few months ago and stated just a little rub on full lock on the drivers side as @Maligator just stated. No lift was needed. There are a few Build Threads on 2017 and 18s that have lifted the front to level to make 37s work.

ive seen people many times throw out these general blanket statements but i dont know that its a good practice. it could steer uninformed folks down a path they might not want to go. you say 37s fit with no lift but in the same post you say you have thuren 1.5 springs and had to trim the plastic. im not trying to bust your balls but it just seems disingenuine for people to make posts with little to no specific info regarding their comment. with actual tire sizes between brands being all over the board, its seems nothing short of a crapshoot for which tires may rub, where they'll rub and how bad the rub.

It's not a blanket statement go do the research and find out for yourself. I'm a member on several different power wagon forums and Facebook pages and the "will it fit" questions get asked almost every day and everyday guys post pics of their rigs on 37s with stock suspension. Oh and btw here is mine on 37s with stock suspension a couple weeks before my level.

Go join power wagon next generation 2005-present group on Facebook tons of info there. A guy today just posted his 2019 on black rhino wheels with 37x12.5 Nitto trail grapplers on a stock suspension. The only time you start getting into real trouble is if you throw a wheel on there that has anything lower than a zero offset. Most of us try to stay in the +18 to +27 range if we are getting aftermarket wheels.

Disclaimer: Not 37s. For what it's worth, I went Carli Commuter with Carli tuned Fox 2.0 shocks, and am extremely happy with it. I decided I wanted to keep (and improve) payload capacity, hence the move to Carli (Thuren rear coils are far too soft, and they state as much). This was the only ding I had on Thuren, otherwise I would have gone that route (I did add a Thuren King shock steering dampener though).

My setup is a 2018 PW level with Nitto Ridge Grapplers 35s on 17x9 + 0 Method Grids.

Mailgator is absolutely correct. 37s on factory is done all the time. My only concerns with that approach is my truck is a daily driver and I still want to have fun with it. I find with my lift, and tire/wheel combo, I can go just about anywhere and never worry about rubbing. Passing a gas station without first looking at my gas gauge approaching empty is my only risk.

Best truck I have ever owned. It goes where I want, tows want I want and stops at every gas station I need.

my stock 18 PW rubbed when i put my methods on with 35s alone.

They fit, they articulate, they just rub soft plastic...
35+ on stock suspension fits with stock wheels or the right offset.

Just know your trimming plastic if you want to be happy, and not unnecessarily eat rubber..

Do you have a down the side view of your truck? 0 offset doesn't look to poke out much with the pic you posted.

this is what i think from my experience. 35x12.5 0 offset rubbed on the driver side rear plastic when turned left backing up. cab seemed centered on the frame best i could tell. although the driver side axle was about 1/4" closer to the fender rear corner. frame geometry tolerance wasnt perfect maybe. who knows. but what i do know is turning the caster cams slides the axle forward and backward. keeping on the high side of the range gives a bit more tire clearance at the fender rear corners and besides that it just simply drives better imo.

35s used to be my tire of choice but ive put them in tempory retirement while i try some 37s. sure ill have to hack into plastic and possibly sheetmetal, hopefully not.

after trying 4 different wheel and tire combos in the last two years ive learned a few things. with these recent 37s i took a different approach. measured wheel runout before tires were ever mounted. put a mark where the machine indicated and lined up the red dot to the mark. had to run a few errands while the first two tires were being mounted but i made it back to the shop just as they were getting started on the other two tires. one ended up at 15lb road force and the other at 13. tire guy said the first two tires had very similar numbers. weight needed was 6oz, 4oz, 4oz, 2oz. not bad not bad. should run smooth like grampas old caddy

L-R 37x13.5 new, 35x12.5 17/32 tread, stock setup new

the only thing consistent is the inconsistancy. but its all good. these arent hand built ferraris. variencies in frames, cab, fender flares, chassis lean. hek my driver front corner was 3/8 lower than passenger. bfg are small. toyo are larger. theres alot of tolerance stacking going on

There are a lot of variables going into the equation about what tires fit. Different brands of tires that are listed as the same size on the sidewall will vary some in both height and width, aftermarket wheels with different backspacing, slight differences in the stock vehicle measurements, how the vehicle is used, and the person's perception of what "fits".

Vehicle use is a big factor IMO. Being an avid off-road for a long time I can't remember how many people will mount tires in their garage and declare they fit fine because you can turn lock to lock while sitting on a concrete floor, or they don't rub driving up and down the highway. Go disconnect the swaybar and run a really rough off-road trail and the outcome can be a lot different.

My recently purchased '16 still has the stock tires and have been looking at 35s, but will have to say the 37's and a leveling kit look really tempting. The only thing holding me back from 37's is that I occasionally tow a heavier trailer and just afraid the 37's will cause too much of a decrease in performance.

This is also 37’s on stock suspension. With the wheel offset, he had to trim a bit of the plastic flare off...

I completely agree.

The simple truth is, these fender openings are basically designed for a 37” max tire before quite a bit of trimming is needed. Depending on wheel offset and actual tire size, LOTS of trimming might be needed with only 35’s (even with a lift), or 37’s might fit with no trimming at all.
