So I just picked up a 2019 Tradesman 2500 the other day, and I traded in my pretty loaded up 2015 Big Horn 1500, so I'm missing some of my favorite features, like heated steering wheel, and remote start.
I'm looking into adding a remote start to my tradesman, I was doing some reading and saw that with AlfaOBD on the 4th gens all you needed was the hood latch, wiring, and rubber button insert for the FOB, so since I already have AlfaOBD and a OBD tool it's only $60 in parts to enable remote start vs $250 for the Mopar kit which is just a hood latch, wire and 2 new FOBs.
I'm looking to just getting a couple pieces and enabling it in AlfaOBD, but I'm struggling to find the Wiring to go between the Hood Latch sensor and the BCM? I'm also not having much luck finding different buttons for the new style FOB, I'm not sure if these new style FOBs work like the old ones where it's the same board in every one, and the contacts are just blocked off.
I tried to take my FOB apart to inspect the board, but it's a lot more complex than the old one, I had it apart in 4 separate pieces and still hadn't split the case completely to get a good look at the board inside. Anyone else attempt to do this yet? I've attached pictures of my FOB and the Wire Harness i'm looking for.
