That’s an ultimate first scratch on a good looking truck! Really like that color too. I was perfectly content with my black 6 speed and FCA had to go and put a 8 speed in and paint it blue. Damn you Ram!

I went to the 8 speed from a 6 speed and HOLY cow is it night and day. A lot quicker and responsive. Also went from 3.73 to the 4.10 so win win in my book!

I was told not to test drive the 8 speed if you weren’t in a position to buy it because you will be disappointed in your 6 speed from them on.

Ive been disappointed in the 6 speed since I drove it off the lot 4 years ago. Im truing to hold off until they do the full redesign on the hd’s...but its hard!

I have a few emails back and forth on those skids and Dethoff is/was going to have it ready for me by May for PWIM (now he has 5 extra months) but the skid should be available soon for us.
My greatest fear in off-roading my 19 PW was hitting that spot and be dead in the water on a trail. I have been avoiding “large mud puddles “ till I got the skid installed.
Ok good i noticed dethoff is in oregon about 20 minutes from me, going to email them myself so i can get on their production list.

Either Ram corrected that by 2018 or my Chevy 6.0 gasser(good truck but man it rode and shifted rough, I mean bad)made it easy for Ram. I still have to ease from 1st to 2nd gear when towing but other than that it does well. Because I’ve been happy with everything about the truck, I’ve started rethinking 35’s. But I’m still not going to test drive an 8 speed

There’s a thread on here somewhere by Wild one, talking about someone on fb planning on making a 6SP-8SP swap. I can’t wait to do that, i “like” the 6SP but it kills any engine behind it

Took deliver Friday night of my new 2020 Power Wagon. Broke it Saturday afternoon at only 70 miles!! Took it down mild dirt road and through a large puddle of mud. Got home to it leaking trans fluid. Inspected and I guess I hit a large boulder in the puddle. Broke trans pan wide open, damaged drive shaft and front shaft boot. ONLY....$1700 so far! My bad!!!

The truck didn’t break , you broke the truck by not being careful off road. Not the trucks fault .

They do. But not in that particular area. And while they are better than no skid plates, they are pretty cheesy for a full size pickup truck.

Nice way to Christen you new truck. At least it's only bolt on parts that don't require bodywork and paint. Watch those deep puddles they can ruin your day quickly.

theyre better than whats on any other truck. of course ram could make them better, stronger ,more coverage. then youd complain the price of the truck is higher or gas milage went down from extra weight

Olyelr wouldn’t complain but I’m sure someone would. I think they should make a programmer that just removes the MPG gauge from the EVIC. Out of sight, out of mind. Then we could just go back to lying about how good our gas milage is in our truck.

Yep, it said I got 15 MPG since last reset which was last year. No way I got that over the last 400 miles. But I pretend I do!

It only averages from the last 500 miles or so, even if you don't reset it for 30k miles.

I check it all the time. Its usually off by nearly 1mpg.
