I've got a remote start issue. When the engine is cold, sometimes/most often, the engine refuses to start, using the the remote. All the doors, hood, Rambox and tailgate are closed. Anyone else having or had that issue?

Do you have keyless entry? I'm guessing not. Recently in my town both my wife and I are having those issues. There's been some sort of a frequency issue blocking the transmitting from recognizing our vehicles. Just a thought.

Yes I have keyless entry and the Uconnect app on my phone which also fails to start the Power Wagon.

I don't think the remote start will work if you have less than a quarter tank of gas or if the check engine light is on for any reason. Either of those apply to your truck?

I have never gotten my iPhone app to start my truck. Sends the signal, and looks like it took, but truck never starts. I am also having intermittent problems with cold weather remote FOB start.

Mine sat for several days and went to remote start it. No go. Think it had something to do with it being -2 degrees. Maybe a battery issue in the cold? Both on Uconnect app and the key fob.

Fuel level isn't the issue. However I believe the issue may have been a loose gas cap. Last night it was -5 here, the truck remote started. I had gassed up a few days ago and just cranked down on the cap. I'm going to test the cap idea in the morning. I'll loosen it just a shade and see what happens in the AM.

RamCares,

My dealer, Lee's Summit Dodge, are the best group of folks in the car business. I took my Power Wagon to them and I knew that it wasn't going to show them what was wrong because the truck was warm. I should've left it overnight and when I get the time to do that, I will.
My experiment with the loose gas cap was a failure. I had deliberately left it a little loose the other night and the next morning the truck fired up with the remote. Then that night I had tightened the cap back up and the next morning the truck wouldn't start with the remote. Back to the drawing board.
