Hello,
It's been a while since posting, but I have noticed that my coolant temps seem unusually high at idle. During the winter, idle temps would creep up to 224F before the fan would start to rev up. Now that it is warming up, I am seeing the coolant temp increase to 230F before the fan kicks in. This morning I was sitting for a mere 5 minutes and it hit 230F. When the fan does run, it seems to only drop the temp a few degrees, and the fan runs non stop until I start moving again. Once I start rolling down the road, the temp will lower to 185F to 205F. What gives? I have checked the coolant reservoir and it is at the right level, and the fan does work. It's 62F outside right now and can't imagine the 100 degree weather during the summer and what temps the truck will reach. Is it possible that the thermostat is failing on me? Or am just paranoid and everyone is seeing similar temps?
