Mine came with it. If you don't have it, the brackets should already be there behind your light. All you need to purchase would be the damper and install it. Quick job. It is nice to have!

The problem is I cannot find it. Would you guys be so nice and look with your VIN number? Or share one with me so I can look it up? I will take the truck to my dealer cause I'm installing remote starter and would like them to program new FOB with remote start and tailgate release button on it

Nope. Not mine. 2020 2500 tradesman. I don't get it why they will not install it on all of them.

I do not. I selected them when I was building my truck online. All my build sheet says is "chrome flat wheel to wheel side steps". It was a $745 add on.

Of course it won't work. I placed an order for the strut and this is the response I got from them:
"The strut damper does not show to be specific to your VIN. I can order it for you but we will be unable to do a return on the part if it doesn't work."

That's weird, I cannot imagine a Tradesman has a different tailgate?

He sent me another email explaining it might work but it's not showing in the system to be assigned to my Vin. He said there is no strut assigned to it. I told him to send it anyway. We will see

Pop your light off (drivers side) and see if the mounting points are there. I've read somewhere that all trucks have the mounting points just not the strut.

I used them before also. But it would be nice to have one out of the way hidden inside.
