I am looking to change my tires out to NITTO Ridge Grappler 285/70r17. I am looking for 2" spacers for the rear tires. Has anyone done this and if so, can you link to the spacers or if I can go with a 1.5" spacer, that will work as well.

Thanks!!

I've never had to run a spacer on my dually. What size did your truck have on it stock? Go back with the stock size or at least something a bit narrower. I wouldn't recommend running spacers for the reason Tron mentioned above.

If you aren't going to be towing and it's going to be a pavement princess, or if you have money to blow, sure, go ahead and run those spacers with those monster tires. I know everyone wants their dually to look like the Yellowstone truck, but that truck wasn't going to see a long life in the real world, and its payload was reduced JUST because of the spacers they had to run to achieve the look.

I THINK stock most duallys run 245's? Been a while since I looked. I want to say you can get away with 265's with no spacers and still haul full weight, and I think 285's will fit but will rub if you start to get close to max weight. DO NOT TAKE THESE NUMBERS FOR GOSPEL, IT HAS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE LOOKED AT DUALLIES SO PLEASE LOOK INTO IT. Tire Rack will tell you what the stock sizes for your truck were with just a few clicks.

235 80 R 17's are the factory size. I've seen 255 80 R 17's run without any spacers and they have the 123/120 load index rating. They would actually be taller than the 285 70 R 17's that you are looking at and only 3/4 of an inch wider than factory size. Should be no clearance issues or the need to use any spacers.

I was just reading this posting

I wonder if a wheel manufacturer makes OFF SET Rims for Dually 3/4 or 1 ton Rams
That way, you would not need a spacer

i found my answer
