Not sure on build times currently. What I can say is we just bought a new Grand Cherokee L on Monday. Went to a big lot. They had maybe 8 Grand Cherokee L's, about 10 Rams, 12 Chargers all V6 GT cars, not one Pacifica or 300, and No Challengers. I was told the supply was still very low, and that there were no deals or incentives being offered. Needless to say I had to pay full price.

If what you ordered includes
Level one Technology Group
360 camera
Or other new stuff
If it takes certain Microchips, it may not be built for months

You have to sit down with someone who knows what is going on at the dealership & find out what modifications need to be done to your Order

Certainty Junior Salesmen will not have a clue to what is going on

If i were ordering at this time, i would find a salesman that can chat directly with someone at Headquarters office in Auburn Hills, Michigan

2022 Classic or new body style
1500 or Heavy Duty

They just started assembling the 2022 year model 1500 Classics this month

Ordered my 2022 3500 Limited with Ho Asin sunroof air suspension 5th wheel trailer TPMS and camera and a few other items.
Was ordered on May 19th and showed up at my Dealer today. I will pick it up in a couple of days. Long wait but excited.

ordered a 2022 end of june, dealer has not heard build date etc, has anyone gotten any info on their ordered unit
I ordered a Longhorn with the Level 1 group on 11/30, I'm already allocated and in D status, the build date is projected mid-January, at least that is what the dealership is telling me.

Are you sure you ordered a truck, are you sure your dealer put the order in? 2022 retail trucks are arriving in 4 to 8 weeks to dealerships around SE Michigan, I've been told this by several dealers I've shopped.

It's not unusual to get to D that quickly, but for most of the people that ordered back during the summer and are still waiting, that is where they have sat ever since, never hitting D1. When I ordered back in March I spent a few months in D before proceeding to D1, at which point I was lucky and my build went quickly from there.

I agree on your last statement, newer order trucks do seem to be getting built much quicker and with priority, although I'm judging that from what I've seen on the couple of forums that I like to check. Wouldn't trust the dealers word for much, but for whatever reason a lot of higher issued vins are getting built way before lower vins that have been waiting for a long time now. Seems to be a mix of customer orders and orders for dealer lots, from what I have seen. And quite a few unhappy people on the other ram forum I am on that tracks 2022 orders for any members that want theirs to be tracked. You want to see the full scope of the cluterF that is going on, take a gander over on the 5th gen rams forum.

Also never hurts to verify the dealer did actually place the order, as you suggested. Certainly wouldn't surprise me if they didn't, or if the owner was never contacted about changes to the build that required their confirmation. Have seen that a few times too.

RAM changed the option packages before 2022 production in October and by doing so any entered orders needed to be altered and customers notified. Did the dealers do that for their customers that pre-ordered?

There has been an abundance of misinformation, typical of the Internet but also because so much about vehicle ordering is dynamically changing. Ordering systems were never designed to mitigate what we are currently experiencing. I can only speak to the RAM ordering process as I sat with my dealer while he entered my option list into the ordering system. I was lucky, the options I listed were all available and my order was included in the current allocation unit. Here is the thing, if an option wasn't currently in the open allocation unit, the order for the vehicle can not be placed, there is no queue or order buffering. This puts the burden on the dealer to re-enter the order in a day or two or perhaps next week to see if the vehicle can fall into an allocation. If the dealer doesn't re-enter the order timely or forgets, this is perhaps the biggest problem of order delays.

Now the problem with scheduling is parts availability, while Sterling Hts is running a 7 days week, the assembly line is often shut down because of parts not available. This comes from a friend of mine that works at the Sterling Hts plant.

For me, my 2022 is a want and not a need so I can wait. Realistically I'm thinking I will see the truck around the end of February. My dealer, who has no reason to fabricate a story since I'm buying at employee pricing said they have seen orders come in as soon as 4 weeks after order and up to 12 weeks. Keep in mind, the dealer is in SE Michigan so transportation delays are not an issue.
