Spoke with my dealer and they verified that they could not place any orders now in granite color so they are checking with the rep to see if there will be a delay in production for all granite color orders. If there is, we will look at the possibility of changing my rebel color to something else.

Ever since the earthquake & tsunami wiped out the Japanese Paint Pigment plant in 2011, no American vehicle companies have been able to have those bright paint colors that we saw before 2011.

That factory is up & running again, but Ram has not taken advantage of it, except for that beautiful BLUE



we no longer have the brilliant Greens, Oranges, Yellows, etc.

Xirallic pearl pigments have that extra colored “sparkle” that helps auto makers sell cars. This particular factory owned by a German company was the principle supplier of black and red pearl pigments. New vehicles painted with those colors will be come scarce until the company can relocate production or if a competitor is able to reproduce the technology.

I was just told I could change my color as there was no timeline for granite. They gave me 2 red options, white and black. I changed to black and we will see if this gets me D1 status soon.

I ordered the same truck as you except two-tone. Granite is superior and makes the truck faster. Also, why do you suspect there is a production delay for granite? Hydro Blue is also unavailable, but those orders are going to D1 per 5thGenRams and a TRX forum.

Just contacted my dealer, looks like my truck went into D1 status last week, they are saying it should be built and delivered in January. Again I ordered Bighorn 1500 with the 3.6L with the night package, bighorn level 2 group, lighting group and finally pano roof in flame red. Ordered it 10-26-22. So fingers crossed ill take delivery in early January.

I ordered a 2023 big horn crew cab 4x4 with the 5.7, night edition, level 2 equipment group in granite on 9/16/22. I have received zero updates on the truck and it’s still in the order confirmed stage on the tracker. I know there’s a delay but I’m seeing people who ordered a month after I did being moved into D1 status. I know I won’t see the truck until late January at a minimum but I don’t understand why I don’t even have a VIN yet while others are in D1.

Yiu should have your Vin already, I would reach out to the dealership and inquire with them.

Well that was fast!! Maybe I'll see it by the end of the year? I know there's a lot more left to do to get it ready for shipping, but either way that'd very exciting news! The estimated arrival time to my dealer is January 4th 2023.

Your VIN # may have real low digits, like 00** in the last 8 digits

The first 3 numbers of the last 8 are 509. Does anyone know if the 23' bighorns will be getting the digital instrument cluster? I was looking for something on the window sticker they sent me but there was no information about that? I Really liked the original instrument cluster so it would be nice if they just kept that?

Thank you! It's exciting now. I'm surprised you don't have a VIN yet? I would contact your dealer and be asking questions for sure. You should have a VIN within 7 days from order.

Yes they are still offering the classic body style for 2023.

I emailed them today and they gave me a VIN. but said that the vehicle still haven’t been scheduled for production. I don’t understand what’s taking so long. I got a big horn crew cab 4x4 with the 5.7 in granite.
