I just got this email from my dealer (Granger in Iowa)

Exciting News: Your Ram is in D1 status and has an estimated SHIPPING date of 12/9/22!! What that means is your vehicle will be built on or around that date. Typically, we see the vehicle arrive at our dealership 4-6 weeks after that date.

Rebel 5.7- Hydro blue. Pretty much everything on it.

Ram status is still the same.

When the Assembly Line is finished with your Order
They can stamp it Ready for Shipping, all they want, but they are not finished with it.
If you ordered rubber mats, a Trailer Hitch Receiver, Nerf Bars or anything else, it goes to a sub contractor for any Extra Parts

The assembly line, notice the body is painted, before they put it on the chassis

......................................................................................
After the Ram leaves the assembly line, it is sent to the Body Vendor.
At Sterling Heights they call the body vendor ' the Mopar Custom Shop '

1670372447848.png

here they are doing some graphix & spraying in the bed liner, from there it may go to another section to get steps , or for something else

when they are done with the Body Vendor,
The Ram is sent to another area, where they do a final Inspection

Then the Ram is sent to a staging area, where it will sit until they schedule a rail road freight car or a semi truck that is a car hauler.
There are railroad Spur Lines that go right onto Ram factory property

Those videos are done by people that belong to an automotive club or organization.

I don't know why they don't edit the film, so that everything goes in the proper order, instead of jumping all over the place.

For instance, the tires & wheels are almost the very last step in the build, because they get in the way if installed before then

Hey Everyone, just thought I would share some news. Just got off the phone with my dealership. Unfortunately, my truck is not on the build schedule yet, but I did ask about the "Granite Crystal" rumors.

He confirmed that earlier this year, there was an issue with the Granite Crystal and, in more particular, the pigment, but for the last couple of months, it has been fixed and is not causing any vehicles to be delayed. Hope this helps.

Chrysler, dodge, Ram, etc.

Always got their Paint Pigments out of Japan
The factory is controlled by a German Company
Mar 26, 2011 — The pigment, called Xirallic, is made at a plant owned by a German chemical company, Merck KGaA MKKGY
In 2011 Japan was hit by an Earthquake & then a Tsunami
It took out a Nuclear Power Plant & all the area around it, including the Paint Pigment Plant

There is a 2nd plant also run by MERCK, its located in Germany, it supplies the pigment for the European countries.

If you have noticed, only the Japanese car companies have vehicles that have brilliant colors.

Here in the USA, the big 3 auto companies are just putting out small batches of purty vehicles, not the thousands that they were making before that paint factory got wiped out

Sorry for the sidetrack but how do you add “military”? I am a Marine and my MOS was 6072 but I have been out since 2007.

One of the Moderators would have to do it
You would think that there would be a section to tell about your service & then someone in control sets it up
I don't recall who it was did mine, it was about 2 years ago

First truck ever! Shopping around to order a 23. I have noticed a lot of orders for rebel GT? I was also thinking of a Laramie GT, I love the paddle shifters and Consol shifter. fully optioned out with air suspension like a limited, they were virtually the same price, decided to go with 23 limited night in granite. I hope I’m making the right choice, I hear the air suspension cancels out any future plans for a lifts, but I’m not looking to make it a monster truck anyways. Hoping to just put on some more aggressive wheels like grapplers or something.

Hey bro…. Sounds like a nice choice either way! All the RAM trucks are nice, personal preferences is all that comes into play! Did you order or purchase on site? Stay well in the interim!

Main reason I went with the Rebel was to "reduce" the number of choices I had. Was going crazy with all the options. Friend of mine has a '19 Rebel, another has a '21 Laramie, neither had a bad thing to say. Laramie owner recently changed the tires to aggressive snow tires, looks pretty bada55.
I decided on the GT package primarily because I felt I couldn't get used to the dial shifter. Also, every YouTube review on the GT package was "GET THE GT PACKAGE". Clearly no real science in my decision making.

I’m reading a lot of people ordering 2–5% below invoice, wearing how do you find these deals? Obviously those are not advertised, so just call around them put the legwork in I guess.

I was almost going to pay MSRP with one local dealer, when I started reading the forums. I found a post on a TRX forum , basically that person had ordered a TRX through Granger in Iowa. I emailed Granger and they sent me a quote for a RAM HD1500 4% below invoice. I asked another local dealer to match (not the first) , and they said the lowest they could go was invoice. The MSRP (First dealer) wouldn't budge on price. This brought me to the conclusion that
1. Some dealers are volume dealers, and if you are willing to go to them, because they may not be local, they will give you the volume discount (Granger , out of Des Moines Iowa., there are some out of Texas and Louisiana). These dealers are not too interested in the dealer add ons and markups, because in a volume game they want to get you out the door with as little friction as possible. From a customer standpoint, it is a a little more effort.
2. Some dealers have a limited number of customers they can handle, so will go the invoice price route (price somewhere between invoice and MSRP). I don't really blame them, their capacity is limited, so they would need to sell at a higher price to keep the lights on.
3. Some dealers just don't care, and are sharks. These are the ones adding fees on top of fees, markups, ADM. I can guarantee you they will add a ton of markups when you go to pick up the truck, ruining the whole experience. Better to stay away if possible. They work on the asymmetric information principle, i.e. they have more information than you while negotiating. The Internet is a great leveler, and like the end of every GI Joe episode "knowing is half the battle". If you must deal with them, do your research.

Edit: wanted to mention Granger does actually advertise the 4% below invoice. I saw it on a forum ad. Another place as well, Koon's (I think)
