Bought a new 2024 Ram 1500 in August. A year old but wanted a Hemi . It has the twist dial for gear shifting unlike my 2014 Ram . I find
that the trans doesn't seem to go in drive or reverse as fast as it should . It's like it wants to decide itself if it wants to go in gear or not and it's not quick , very sluggish .
Is this issue indicative of all the newer Rams?

Firstly, welcome, from Ontario, Canada.

Everything nowadays is drive-by-wire.... so,

DO NOT just select the gear and hit the throttle!
With foot on the brake, select your gear and wait just a moment until you feel it go into gear.

I'm old-school, too and hear ya... but in today's world one needs to give it a moment to "get into the selected gear" before one removes ones foot from the brake and onto the throttle!

Doing otherwise will net you premature damages on your transmission ;)

It will be a bit slower if you try to shift and go at cold start up.
