We are now at a Harvest Host. Crockers boatyard/marina in New London, CT. Power , water, pool access.
Nice cool breeze off LI Sound should be a nice ouple of evenings. Oh and the slight aroma of diesel fuel ( bonus!).

We're back camping at Old Cedar this weekend. It's going to be a hot one today with an excessive heat warning. We're definitely hitting the pool.

Two weeks ago I was at Western Village RV Park for All Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle. I haven't posted the pics yet but I will. We were camping next to @jawzs2. We had a great time. Went out to dinner with him and his brother and my cousin. The show was awesome. I think they said there were about 3200 cars. It rained at the end of the day on Saturday. My cousin and I made it back to the truck before the sky opened up, jawz2 and his crew weren't so lucky.

I had a awesome time Joe. Looking forward to next year.

Spent the last week in June at Mountain Lake Campground in Lancaster NH. I love being in the White Mountains, and this campground is wonderful. Our daughter and son-in-law, with the grandkids were there, and my wife's sister, her husband, their son and his brood. Four campers, and seven kids under 10. We had a great time.

Yes, absolutely beautiful area. My wife grew up right down the street in Gorham. We haven't been to that campground, going to have to check it out, thanks!

We do some snowmobiling between Lancaster, Gorham, and the surrounding areas most winters. It is really specular in the winter.

We are getting ready for our next camping trip. This will be the first trip towing the trailer with the new to us Ram and I am looking forward to it. Our previous tow pig was a 2021 Jeep Gladiator that developed some engine problems. It towed the trailer fine but the steep grades we were traversing really taxed that 3.6L V6!

16.jpg

So, getting ready for the trip meant mocking up the new drop hitch, checking level on the trailer, test the lights with the trailer connected to the 7-pin and set the trailer brake controls.

Everything worked as it should. My guess on the height of the hitch was spot on, the trailer hitched level was good, the lights worked properly, and the trailer brake control was tested and set. No CEL popped up on the dash so we are good to go.

Then I went for a short drive around town, without tow haul and with it engaged. I may not even use tow/haul with this trailer attached to the Ram. It isn't a large trailer so this 2500 with the 6.4L HEMI doesn't even know it's there. The flexibility of the power mirrors, especially extending the mirrors out, really makes a difference.

We are off in a couple of weeks to a Forest Service camp up on top of the Mogollon Rim in north central Arizona. We'll see if the steep grades bother the 6.4L HEMI. I'm guessing not. :)

Here is the hitch. I'll tell ya, doing business with eTrailer.com online for towing gear and parts is extremely easy and their technical support is world class.

Hitch 01.jpg

I had installed some Morimoto LED tail lights recently and was a bit concerned there might be a problem with the trailer wiring configuration but everything worked well.

T07.jpg

I hooked up the trailer, checked the lights, then set my preferred gain setting on the brake controller, then headed out to test those brakes.

TRLR 01.jpg

Like I said it's not a big or heavy trailer. It's all we want or need to enjoy our camping trips.

TRLR 03.jpg

It's almost time to hit the road and head to the woods!

Back at our son’s house in CT and these just got set up for our grandson’s 10th birthday party tomorrow. Going to be a zoo kind of party day.
The big water slide is supposed to be for adults. I don’t think that’s going to stop the kids lol. IMG_4531.jpeg

Finishing up at Delaware State Seashore park. Spent a week and a half with family. Nice time and the weather was perfect. 80 maximum during day and 65 at night. Usually in the 90s so this was a welcome change. Rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath trailer and hung with a mix of tents, 5th wheels, and travel trailers my family has. Good times for all. One of the smaller tow vehicles (Kia SUV) was in an accident so the rental was a 2025 2500 diesel Ram, you know I am taking that for a spin before I leave.

Just got back from the Jersey Shore. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend. Stayed at Acorn Campground. We went with two other couples. On Sunday we took a ride on the Wildwood boardwalk with our bikes. I'm the one with the black MAGA hat and black Ram shirt. No one was allowed in the water due to the rip currents from hurricane Erin but there were a few people on the beach.

This was our 8/11/25 - 8/16/25 camping trip to Canyon Point USFS campground in Arizona. We have another reservation for 9/12 - 9/17 at the same site.

Crazy, I used to camp at that campground most summers with my grandparents and a bunch of cousins, sinkhole still open for hiking to?

Yes, you can still hike to Sinkhole. The area is under fire restrictions, so no fires allowed. It has eased up a bit with some rain in the area this past week. We are looking forward to our next trip up there early next month.

Love camping this time of year, kids are school and it's nice and quiet - LOL. The second pic is looking down at the 4 campsites in our section. Crickets.... We're into our second week here, just south of the Catskills in NY near Middletown. Neversink River Resort. Beautiful area and the trees are just starting to turn.

Well, our September trip up on the Rim was most excellent. It was a lot cooler up there than down in the firepit aka the Sonoran Desert.

We were surprised by a few squirrels early one morning who thought my cookies were fair game, even though they were in a sealed plastic container. One of them was ready to fight me for them!

We are headed back up there on 10/19 through 10/23 and that will probably be it for any camping up on the Rim until next year.

We will be camping down here in the desert along the Salt River and the reservoirs there.

So, here's to the next camping trip!
