I have a 2025 Big Horn with the basic Uconnect 5 8.4–Inch screen. I have an iPhone 15, up to date. I have 3 phones set up for CarPlay, my personal, work, and wife's, with my personal as primary favorite. If one of the secondary phones connects first, I can never switch to my personal phone. And plugging it in never helps either. For example yesterday my wife got in the car before me, and we hadn't turned the car on, but hers was connected when I started it up. And occasionally even when I am the only one in the car with one phone, it still doesn't connect. When I go through device manager to try to connect, it never works and gives me an error. Sometimes when I go into the settings it shows my phone as disabled, and enabling it helps. But usually it seems to help if I restart my phone. Anyone else experience this?

your settings determine which will be the main phone. I went thru that myself...thought my phone was the boss, but every time her majesty got in the truck it picked up hers. In your settings, the phone listed first is the priority phone. If your personal phone is not number one, you'll have to play around and make it number 1.

Mine is number one, so not sure why it happened unless just opening the door caused it to sync with hers.

Has anyone tried the 2 active phones option? I've tried enabling that but it didn't seem to make a difference.

there's an option called "projection manager"....go to that and it should prioritize your phone

Disable the projection option for everyone else’s phone except yours. Had the same problem in my 19 Laramie Longhorn. Also when my wife and kid are in the truck I have my kid to plug into the rear usb that is power only so her iPhone does not connect. My wife never plugs in. I think she doesn’t even realize she can plug in after numerous prompts to especially on long trips.

I don't see an option for projection manager anywhere. A search sounds like it's an app, but I don't have an app with that name. Maybe that's just with the 12" screen?

The day after I posted this no phone would connect, no matter what I tried. Then later it connected no problem. I noticed again that "Enable Phone" was switched off, but it still connected later without me changing anything. Not sure exactly what that does. It seems that having multiple phones in the car is the main problem but I'll have to track it better. It's frustrating that plugging a phone in doesn't even help.

my son has he same year truck as you, but he has a 12" screen. He said he has 3 phones and he made his No.1 on the list of phones and no problems.

For now I've deleted all the other phones and it usually works, but still didn't work today.

I’m having the same problem! It’s driving me crazy. I have daily drives to and from work 30 min to 1.5 hours and I lose my connections 6-8 times.

Not sure what to do. My truck has less than 2k miles on it.

I checked the updates and it seems to be ok.

I can’t get my automatic door opener to connect either.

And now one of my RamBoxes can only be opened with a key, all small stuff but annoying on a brand new truck.

I tried it, I have a main phone and one just for the truck Ram Uconnect program. It jumps back and forth between connections.
