2025 Tungsten - Map in NAV system, among other colors, shows an "orange" for some streets and intersections. I can find any logic as to what that color means. It seems unconnected to traffic and tipe of road. I cannot associate the color with anything meaningful. Would welcome some input and a possible explanation.

You might post a picture so we can all appreciate your dilemma.

Have you tried different themes in the NAV settings? Some of them do crazy things to the colours but, you just might find your preferred crazy look.

Different themes do not address the need for the highlighted color - in this case 'orange'. The orange highlighting appears for no apparent reason, certainely not related to traffic or type of road since contridictory information appears at the same time. I have attached several expamples. Thanks for suggseting the photo idea. I see this indication on roads that have absolutly no traffic and are the same road as one indicated by green.

That’s the current state of the traffic flow.

I understand that the orange color as well as all colors report the status of traffic flow. However, in this case the orange appears when ther are no cars on the road and appears on the map on and off not representing the actiual traffic. I'm beginning to believe it's a software problem. I have been informed by RAM that there are in fact software issues relating to other, non map issues. I think this may be another. This is the 2025 Tungsten, a new model and it's possible that there are issues that need to be identified and addressed. I would love to here form anyone driving a 2025 RAM model.

The fact that it is specifically a 2025 tungsten is irrelevant, because it is the same TomTom map system used on all 2022-2025 rams with Uconnect 5 nav radios. If the live traffic flow is inaccurate in specific areas, it would be an issue on TomTom’s end on how they’re reporting it through Ram Connect services. Kind of like if Apple Maps traffic flow did the same thing- it would be an issue with the Apple Maps app service, not the iPhone or its iOS version.

Thanks for the clearification. However, assuming I'm correct that there is in fact an issue with the map presentation, who is responsible for fixing it. The only contact I have is the RAM dealership. I'm not aware of a way for me to deal directlt with TomTom. If there is, I would defenitly appreciate contact information. I should also point out that the dealership has identified other siftware issues associated with Uconnect 5 and other 2025 models. They are working with appropriate services to get a software fix. I'm assuming it may be a related issue to my NAV problem?

As Jimmy shared, the UC5 is the same for all 22-25s with 12" and nav.

There are hundreds of reports of intermittent malfunctions of this radio well beyond just the nav. Uconnect knows about them but will not respond by email. If you call you get into a circular phone loop you can't get out of. If you ever get through you'll hold for an hour and they will cut you off.

It's way beyond any dealer's capability to figure out any of this. They are just parts replacers.

Best hope is the next update will solve some nav issues and some of the intermittent screen and function problems.

According to Jimmy, .46 is the latest firmware. While a manual update may be possible, Ram has the capability to remotely update when they get ready.

RamCares does not care and will not help with Uconnect.

I have a 2022 with the same UC5 system. No disrespect intended but your premise is simply not correct. I use the traffic / nav system all the time. It's mostly accurate, but occasionally yellow or orange will appear when one would think traffic doesn't warrant it. I've always assumed there is a bit of lag time in updating 'real time' traffic.

I have not had any troubles but today as I pulled into the driveway a notice of a Software Update appeared. Was directed to put it in park and do not operate vehicle. I had excellent connection and that Software Update took every bit of 12 to 15 minutes so I assume it was a major update. Things would shut off and start back up or shut off and not start back up for a few minutes. I will check it out tomorrow and see if I can notice any things that has changed? HA! Nothing jump out at me as I pulled into the garage when it was finished.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
All the best to everyone!! :)

I would not be surprised if the Orange colored stripes are either
Planned Lanes, or lanes currently under construction

i also found this, it comes from TomTom

No colour - No traffic incidents on your route.
Yellow - There is heavy traffic on your route.
Orange - There is slow traffic on your route.
Red - There is stationary traffic on your route.
