Looking to get a lift kit for my truck. I know, why lift a 2wd truck??? Well, I like the look and I have no use for a 4wd.

Well I was looking at the MaxTrac 7" lift. Comes with 4.5" spindles and a 2.5" coil lift for the front, and a 3" spacer for the rear. Was also looking at the kit with the Bilstein shocks over the MaxTrac shocks. A little more expensive, but I figured the shocks would last a little longer.

2009-2013 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd 7" Lift Kit w/ Bilstein Shocks

Wanting to know, is the kit any good?

Was also looking at the CST kit, but it's like $500 more and comes with the same exact stuff. Whats the difference?

Thanks!

They are both good kits. Plenty of guys running maxtrac. I ran CST lift for awhile, no issues. The reason cst cost more is because they were the only company that made a lift for 2wd 4gen trucks and charged whatever they wanted. Maxtrac came in with a more affordable kit, but cst hasn't come down off prices yet.

I have this lift installed on my truck. I dont know much about what makes a lift a good lift vs a bad lift, but I dont have any issues that you wouldnt expect from a lifted truck.

The dude that installed it owns a 4x4 shop, he had never heard of maxtrac but he said that the kit seemed to be of high quality.

They have a rep that frequents these boards and hes very friendly over the phone. Im sure hed be happy to answer any questions

What kind of issues?
How do you like it?
How's the ride?
What shocks you go with?
What size tires you running?
Any way you could take pic's?
What's the measurements from the ground to the front and rear fenders and to the bottom of the drivers door?

Sorry for all the questions. Can't seem to find the answers anywhere else before I buy it.

What kind of issues?
Its hard to hold an alignment. I live and work in beach cities, so fitting in parking spots and garages is a *****. Gas mileage is pretty **** now, but I have 3.55s and I have a daily 4mile/35minute commute. So Im prob the worst case.

How do you like it?
I'm very happy with it over all. I love the look. Remember the front wheels will stick out more after the lift. I think its somwhere around 1.5"? If i were to do it again, I would of gotten wheels with a positive offset. Somewhere in the teens. I actually thought the +18 stockers tucked in there perfectly. Thats my personal preference, though, I prefer that tucked look. There is also a slight rake in the front if you dont get the extra rear spacers, which gives it a subtle cali lean. I like it personally.

How's the ride?
The ride actually didnt take that big of a hit until I got new tires. To me the ride was still good after the lift/before the tires. With the M/Ts its not comfortable, but not horrible. It definitely takes more effort to keep it in a straight line.

What shocks you go with?
Maxtrac

What size tires you running?
295/65/20 Trail Grapplers. Ends up being a little over 35"

Any way you could take pic's?
For some reason none of the pics i take make it look as big as it is. In person it looks much bigger. Im not sure why

I just ordered the maxtrac 7" lift from Realtruck.com tonight at 2am lol. It comes with 4.5" lift spindles, 2.5" front coils, 3" rear coils, track and sway brackets, extended brake lines, and blisteins all the way around. I ordered new rims Red dirt road rd04 20x9 -12 offset because I want to run the Toyo Open Country RT's. They're in between a MT and AT, look very aggressive and offer a 45K mileage warranty. I can't afford $1600 MT's every 12-18000 miles lol. Also ordered the mevotech UCA's since I've read so many issues with ball joints. Few things are on back order and won't have $$$ for tires + install and won't have time off work till mid November.

Kit from realtruck was $1279 free shipping. Tires with 3 year warranty for free flat repair etc is $1833 shipped and that's for 35x12.5x20 Toyo open country RT

Where did you find the Mevotech UCA's from? Everywhere I seen was for 4wd.

And thanks a bunch stino! Looks great! I'll probably just go with the MaxTrac kit until I can afford new tires. Probably somewhere in the 35"-36" range as well. Nothing to aggrisove. Won't be taking it off road. Just like the lifted look.

Very nice, should look killer when completed! If you want your rear tires to stick out the same as the front, I have some nice BORA adapters for sale. They are 1.75" thick bolt on adapters. The new spindles will make your front tires stick out 1.5" on each side. I had the 1.75" adapters because they clear the factory length studs so you won't have to trim them. Let me know if your interested. Scroll down on this link to my thread, it shows them installed.

I'll have to see if they fit. 2013 rams switched to a different thread pattern so the nuts to hold on the adaptors probably won't work.

Be cautious when using wheel spacers - I've both heard about and witnessed the aftermath of the spacers failing/causing problems. I was going to get a set, but after hearing and seeing the aftermath and once I put my fender flares on it's really hard to tell that my front wheels stick out further than the back. Just be careful if you go that route with the spacers. Truck will look killer with that lift though!

Damn that's a nice truck Stino and you're right the 7" kit doesn't look nearly as tall in your pics. I love the all white with black panda look. My F-150 is setup the exact same way. Very nice man!! Glad you like the kit as well :peace:

Yeah, I'll try to snap some new pics. Im 6'5" so maybe it has something to do with the angle I'm take the picture, Im not sure.

When i picked up my truck from the shop, it was kind of shocking how tall it was. I loved it. Even other pics ive seen dont seem to do it justice

Cool deal, thank you guys! And I've ran spacers before on other vehicles and auto crossed with them with no problems. As long as you get the ones that was pictured in the link, you shouldn't have any problems. It's the ones that are aftermarket that don't have the studs pressed in that shorten your factory studs because they sandwich between the wheel and rotor is the ones I stay away from.

Got the mevotech UCA's from carid.com only because I get a 10% discount for being a "first responder" I'm a ER nurse. The part number is ms251057 and 058 I'm pretty sure. It says 4wd but they fit on the 2wd. Will have them installed with the lift

I have the 4.5" maxtrac with 3" rear kit and maxtrac shocks and love it. I have 35x12.5's on 20's +12f and -12 rear. Just going to use a 2" hub centric spacer for rotation. If I have one regret it's that I should have done the 7" with 37's. It looks too small after having it a while now. Suspension specialists on eBay recommended by Sean at maxtrac $850.
