So, my neighbors found 4 almost brand new pro comp mud tires on the side of the road. They got about 70% tread left. Well, he cant fit them and im wondering if I can. I have 285/75/16's on right now and I have a good amount of room. I think I can fit them but my main question can I run them without any gear changing?

For those that dont know I am running ion alloy rims so they arent stock rims. I think they can handle 315/75/16 cant they? Any advice would be awesome.

Couple questions first.
1. How wide are your ion alloys? Tho they can fit 285s they might not fit 315s. I doubt that's the case but still something to look at.
2. How much lift you running? IIRC you have 3" right? 3" you can "fit" 35s but itd be about the same thing as running 33s on stock height.

315s are 35s and I'm not going to say you HAVE to regear but you really should. 35s aren't going to put quite as much strain on your tranny as say 37s (cough cough BlackMagnum lol) but it's still something. You will suffer a noticeable loss of acceleration due to taking more effort to turn em.

Yeah Im not sure what I want to do. I feel like my 285's will work better for what I do. I like to pull my two seadoos down to the lake in the summer which is around a 2.5 hr drive mostly highway and I feel like my 285's would work best.

You'll need more lift and gears.
Keep them for about a month or so, clean them up and then sell 'em. :D
