Yeah something is definitely wrong. My truck bone stock does the 1/8 mile in 10 seconds flat

I see in your sig that yours is a 2012, isn't that a 392 from the factory with variable valve timing and stuff?

2012 is still a 5.7 it just has more power. And no you cannot remove the front 02 sensor. That the one that controls afr.

Will play around with the O2 sensors when I have some time, see what codes it throws when I connect one or two.

What are you using now for tuning? Stu from Inertia who sent you the motor parts and prob a DSP or Sean trying to tune Stu's motor with a DSP or SCT? I know a decent amount of background on your build just trying to get as much info on the table.

Parts came from inertia, he got a bit swamped with work so I wen't to hemifever for tuning to speed the tuning up. Tuning is a custom tune with the diablo predator.

My situation is a bit unique, most people who go stroker already have an extensive mod list. I kinda was forced to go the stroker way after my bone stock motor seized. Reason for bringing this up is that I'm still running the stock exhaust manifolds and 2 into 1 pipe, while I'm guessing that nearly all the other strokers are running headers. I'm thinking that this combined with the cat overtemp protection is the reason for my lack of power. (Stu even thinks that the bad flowing stock exhaust manifolds might be a reason for the high exhaust temps.)

You def need to get yourself some headers. I think you'll be pleasantly suprised how much you wake that thing up

For an 03 Shorties or the Full Dynatec system with 02 extensions coupled with a good tune you may be able to live with the 5850 RPM and still be under 6 seconds.

Never Confirmed if they make an 03 set-up (one Cat and 2 sensors) as it comes with 2 high flow cats and 4 sensors and wiring (maybe it can be split?? or maybe just 04 and up?).

If you keep one cat get the choke point cut off near the end close to the honeycomb and get it to 3" like the stock pipe.

When I go the header way I'll get a set of pacesetter headers and a homebuilt 2 in 2 exhaust, don't know if I'll go with an X pipe or a H pipe, still need to do my homework on exhausts.

I'm guessing you desesenstized or turned the cat overtemp protection completely off? A tuning option that does not exist with the 03 pcm :Boo: (well for diablosport anyways)

Ran it with the both the rear O2 connected and disconnected but the value stays the same, guess it's the front 02 that does the temp reading. Anybody any ideas as how to get round this 'cat overtemp protection'?

For those who care :), AFR video log, you can clearly see the 'overtemp protection' kicking in in 2nd gear and adding fuel in response to the high EGT's pulling the AFR down to 10.0 by the time I shift to 3d.

Stu recommended to lean it up a bit in 1st, that way when the pcm adds fuel the AFR won't go down all the way to 10.0, any thoughts?

Don't think anything was turned off in the tune file.
