4.56 will be good enough if you keep your 35's. The 66rfe has a way high overdrive like you've mentioned so you're good.

If I could've gotten 4.88's for the front diff in a 1500, I would have instead of 4.56 with 37's. Truck still drives better than stock though.

Ok great, so 4.56 it is?

It’s the only option unless I want basically change the front diff to allow for 488. When i called yukon They said I need to “change the carrier” to be able to use 488 in the front. Have to get a price on that and that’ll be the deciding factor.

Otherwise it is 4:56’s.

I like making comparison charts. Top is 4.56’s, bottom is 4.88’s. Both show the RPM’s in the same gears at the same MPH. RPMs are with 35” tires.

Very bottom shows the differences in RPM’s between the 2 setups. 152RPM is the average difference. High being 169 and low being 135.

Excuse my poor writing, and those are just the MPH I decided to compare. You can ise the calculator i linked to do it yourself.

And i got to say, 152 RPM’s may seem negligible but IMO and experience that small amount can absolutely change the drivability, depending on what your goal is. And if you just do the RPM difference for the 10MPH jumps than the average is 158.6

Nitro gear lists 4.30 - 4.56 - 4.88 and 5.13 for the 2013 and newer 2500/3500

the 2500/3500 are different then the 1500. cloudlight and JB1 are quoting information about the 1500s and its not relevant here.

My RPMs are the same as your 35 w/ 4.88 and I think it's perfect.

Rambo, if you mean me for the 4.10's, that swap is probably 2 years away. That's when I plan on getting a TT. Still haven't found a source for the front rear w/ 5.13's either. Lowest I found was 4.88's.

There is a member on the forum, Karl or something and he has 4.88”s, so I know they are out there, he also ponied up for the dealer to install them and warranty them as well.

Found 4.88's for both rears but only 5.13's (my preference) for the 11.5" rear rear.

I tend to accumulate parts slowly. Easier to do serrupticiously, money wise. Then BANG, put it all in in one shot and my sweet wife doesn't notice ALL the changes, just what's visible or noisy. :) :) ;)
Ha ha ha. , I do the same thing [emoji1303]

Best part is, 5.13's in 6th gear going 65 mph puts me right at 2078 RPMs. That sweet spot these 6.4s love. Right around 2 grand they are happy and quiet. Hell, if I didn't have the K&N CAI and MagnaFlow, I probably wouldn't even know it was running.

5.13's also puts my RPMs at 3325 in 1st gear at 5 mph. Just 675 RPMs below max torque. Who here besides me remembers having a Granny gear? Gotta pull a stump? :) Gotta walk your 8k lb TT out of some wet ground up hill? Call Granny. :)

I'm gettin' excited now. May not make it 2 yrs before doing this ha ha.

That was all based on 275/70R18 MTs
If I go to a 35" tire (true 35.7") in 6th at 65 mph I'm still at 1960 RPMs.

OP, you pull the trigger yet? I'm building the case for steeper gears.LOL
