So 3.55's and the 6 speed sucked with 33's. Somehow it actually wasn't too bad after I got 37's but it never used 6th gear.

Truck is a 2012 Ram 1500 4x4 with just a leveling kit

After a lot of research this was either done on a lifted truck with a fabricated bracket or only speculated on how to do it. Here's the full list of parts to make it a bolt-on swap. It may be different on 8 speed trucks but I need to get under one to confirm whether or not this would work.

2010 front diff - $312
2010 custom front drive shaft - $250 - stock ones are cheaper
2010 motor/differential mount - 52110084AC - $126 - This piece made it a bolt-on swap
2010 passenger side output shaft - $330 - could've been avoided if the 2010 diff had it
Nitro Front 4.56 R&P and Master Install kit - $515
Yukon Rear 4.56 R&P and Master Install kit - $544
Mag-Hytec rear diff cover - $250 - optional
Labor for install - $1200

Total price - $3527

Mag-hytec cover isn't needed and the output shaft could've been avoided so really its $2900 to get it done.

For the difference in drive-ability that I have noticed... even taking it easy during break in... makes it worth every cent. Honestly other than fitting 37's on a leveling kit, this is my favorite mod.

Also this has been my gas mileage since getting it done. Before hand I was getting 12-13 around town with similar driving. I have more than 30 miles on it so ignore the trip meter.

Thanks for the breakdown, so you just got the diff from the junkyard?

Sorry for my ignorance...... but how does going with a gear swap help in MPGs?

You get the power that you have to the ground more efficiently and with that it takes less throttle to get the truck moving.

So while he is breaking in the gears and light footing it he will get better mileage, once he breaks the gears in his mileage will take a hit and his gas mileage will go to **** as he is enjoying his new found power.
Also his rear tires will need to be rotated more often than before... lol
;)

I did all my other mods and did gears last. It made such a huge difference with the 35’s now having the 4.56’s. All that is left for me is a cam when my lifters go [emoji4]

2009 QCRB 4WD - 4.56/Shorties/FMTB/Intake/Exhaust/6” on 35’s/lots more [emoji41]

I had no choice but to take it up on the highway today on a 30 mile trip. At 65 with 37s it purrs at 1900 rpms and the truck won't shift for anything... passing people or going up a hill. The low end torque is awesome!

I am one happy dude
