Hello Folks,
Newbie here. Have a lead on, and am considering the purchase of, a Ram 1500 with a 4.7 liter engine that is making timing chain noise and giving an occasional code for the camshaft. Thinking it might be the timing chain and/or tensioners. I was wondering if this is something that can be replaced with the engine inside the vehicle. I'm also interested in knowing whether this is an interference engine.
I know my way around the garage, I do nearly all of my own repair work and rebuilt the engine on my Ford Ranger (4.0 SOHC) four years ago. Would love to hear from anyone who has done the timing chains on the 4.7.
