#1 - There is no "police interceptor" package for a Dodge Ram pickup truck. "Interceptor" is a Ford name and Dodge has never used it. The only vehicle NOT a sedan that was ever pursuit rated would be the Chevrolet Tahoe, and they only achieved that rating as of last year after numerous alterations were made to the police pursuit Tahoe (PPV) making it perform like a sedan at speed.
#2 - No pickup truck on earth has ever been pursuit rated.
#3 - No police package vehicle comes with a "police chip" making the 4.7 in that truck any better or faster than any other 4.7.
#4 - If anything, this is a SSP (Special Service Package) vehicle that may include external fluid coolers, a limited slip rear end, heavy duty brakes and heavy duty suspension, along with a higher output alternator and possibly some wiring hookups run into the cab that a regular truck wouldn't have. If there were any police calibrations made to the engine and transmission, they certainly wouldn't result in 13 second 1/4 mile times. Plus I think the Special Service Package Ram trucks only came in Quad-Cab versions with the Hemi.
#5 - I speak this because I know it, I've been a police officer and car nut (and POLICE car nut) for many years. I'm calling bullsh*t on the whole thing unless proven otherwise.
#6 - There is no "police interceptor" Dodge Ram pickup. It bears repeating.
#7 - I'm new here and not trying to make waves. Just can't sit here and watch this bull being spoon fed to you guys and watch you eat it up without speaking my mind.
#8 - It's not personal.
